I had a minor nervous breakdown at the box office here. Fo, slime and I had flown from NYC for the show, and we gave up a day of sightseeing in L.A. to wait in the queue. When we got to window, we were informed that the guestlist hadn't arrived yet, so we watched in horror as everyone with tickets in hand ran in past us.

Luckily, a fella named Neil who was in back of us on the queue held spots for us, and even though we got a complaint from someone in the venue who didn't appreciate fans doing favors for other fans, we were able to stand second-row center thanks to Neil's generousity.

But my nervous breakdown was because it was the first Travis general admission I've attended that I wasn't standing front-row. It's just one row back, but the feeling is completely different.

It turned out OK, because the girl in front of me wasn't much taller than me.

And once the music starts, it really doesn't matter where you are, only that you're there.

This was my first Travis show since 2004, and it was as good, if not better, than the last times I saw them. Fran singing Flowers in the Window acoustically, off the mic and the amps, was magical as always.

Everyone nearly died when Fran asked us to pogo during WDIAROM. I'd been pogoing all along, and now that everyone else on the floor was doing it too, I'd be killed by trampling feet if I didn't oblige. I was hoping to catch my breath at the end of the song, but the opening chords of Happy started, and I almost started dry-heaving from lack of oxygen. At the end of Happy, I was dizzy, sweat-drenched, smelly, and completely out of breath.

But then they went into Back in Black and that crazy voice came out of Fran, and I couldn't stop screaming.

That was the first time at any Travis show that I thought I came closer to dying from asphyxiation. And I don't even smoke or anything! Ugh, I must be getting old...

Fo, slime and I got back to our home-for-the-trip around 3 a.m. We left for our real homes, New York City, later that day. Flying cross-country to see Travis? Totally worth it.

First, thank you again Fran for signing my Coachella ticket, and also signing my "The Man Who" shirt for my girlfriend, she loved it by the way!
Awesome show, Flowers in the Window was absolutely amazing, you guys are hands down the best live band ever, and I've seen U2 and the Stones. Thanks again, and come back to L.A. soon! My girlfriend and I wanna enjoy the next Travis show in L.A. together!
