They stomped,
they rocked
they swayed
and they sang!!!
What a wonderful French crowd, enjoying what was, once again, an excellent show.
The highlight of the evening was seeing "As You Are" reappear in the setlist. How can we not be impressed by Andy's solo - absolutely stunning.
Lovely to meet all the baudettes - you're a great lot and I look forward to seeing you all again next time.
Thanks as always to the band for being YOU!

Already one week after the gig in Paris and there's still this smile on my face everytime people ask me "so, how was Travis show?"
Great band, great songs, great sound, great venue, great crowd, great fans (nice meeting you the Baudettes!): it was just perfect! Well it would have been really perfect if the set had lasted 1 or 2 more hours actually... at least! ;)
You rock guys and thanx for being so nice: these few minutes spent with you and your music are priceless.
Thank you thank you thank YOU!
And don't wait too long before coming back! Take care. xx

Bonjour Travisland,
Over a week ago the famous Baudettes performed at Casino de Paris, and boy, they rock!! They were kind enough to share their time in total humility with some scotish guys lost in town...all of that was just top top top, merci pour toujoursxxx

Was in Paris for my birthday and last.fm told me Travis were playing. I was a big fan ten years ago and I thought it might be a nice way to spend the evening before I turned *ahem* 21 again.

Went along to the venue and waited in the longest queue I have ever seen. Everyone that walked past us kept peering at the signs, trying to work out what the fuss was.
Was a bit concerned they were sold out but they weren't. Lucky for me.

The crowd were weird (in a good way). They all sat down on the ground, waiting for the show. Also, there were a lot of coats and bags at the front. In my youth, this was Not Done. But what do they say? Vive la difference?

Oh and someone pushed in front (which is okay in the UK) and a man pushed him back where he was and said "etrangers!"

The show started and I had a stab of grief for my youth. A decade had passed between gigs for me. Anyway, they were fabulous.
The bit when Fran jumped into the crowd was pretty cool. I remembered him saying something like that ten years ago, "we are only up here so you can see us"

The idea that their latest album was a story over the tracks was news to me and I am ever glad I went.

The crowd did not jump around or dance as much as I thought they would. It was either
1) cultural
2) their advancing age
3) all those bags and coats

The music was tight and the songs (some I knew, some I didn't) were well chosen.
My friend back home said "request U16 girls for me!" but I don't know how comfortable I would be listening to men with kids singing about accidental statutory rape.
There are only a few years you can get away with it, I think.

Dougie spoke in French which was a nice touch. Everyone goes wild when he sings solo. I don't think Stephen Gately from Boyzone gets as big a reaction.

The songs were totally stuck in my head on my way home and I was on the road so couldn't listen to them. There is no greater frustration.

Got home, did some itunes downloading and now am a Travis Superfan again. Cannot wait until the next gig, whenever that is!
