There aren't adequate words to describe this show. Travis had their famous, crowd-pleasing energy last night. The crowd also had an amazing energy, and we were all feeding off of each other. It was stinking awesome!

I saw the HOB show in Anaheim, CA last Thursday, and was lucky enough to see this show here in Salt Lake City after an 11 year hiatus from the band. (They hadn't been here in 11 years!) Let me tell you, they more than made up for their absense last night. Fran, Dougie, Andy, Neil and Claus rocked the house last night,

They performed a great mix of their new stuff off of Ode to J Smith and also a great mixture of the old. The best was when they did Blue Flashing Lights! I have only had the privelege of seeing them do that once live. Also, Britney Spears was playing across the street, so they decided to pay homage to her and do the cover of her song "Hit Me One More Time." I love it when they perform that one live! Of course, theirs is a MUCH better version than hers! (O:

The creme de la creme was when Fran jumped into the audience again and I was able to pat him on the shoulder for the second time in a week! I was lucky enough to score 2nd row standing room again, and he shook my hand aas well when he reached down into the audience! Sigh.

The end of the evening produced a wonderful encore. I lost count of how mnay songs they did, but I think it was 4-5. The last song was Flowers in the Window, and the boys sure wailed on that one. Travis genuinely seemed happy to be playing for us last night (an element that was somewhat missing from the HOB Anaheim, CA show) and we were so pleased to welcome them with open arms again here in Salt Lake City!

Please come back again soon, Travis! And, please DO NOT make it an 11 year absence this time, okay?

All in all, this was the kind of show Travis is famous for, and for which we all love them for!

Excellent show boys, and thank you for stopping by Salt Lake City! You were amazing! We hope to see you on the next tour!

Thank you Travis for coming back to SLC. I've been following you since the "Good Feeling" days but have never gotten to see you perform live. I introduced my wife to your music about 1-2 yrs ago- we were both SO excited for last night's show. And I owe you a big thank-you from her for playing Selfish Jean (her favorite). You guys were incredible. Please don't make us wait another 11 yrs. The set list was an amazing mix of all your best. And I had no idea that Travis songs could ROCK so HARD! Amazing energy Amazing talent. An amazing evening. Thank you.

This was my first experience seeing Travis live and I loved it. They played with so much energy and so much passion. They really looked like they were having a blast up there on stage. They couldn't stop smiling. The highlight of the night for me had to be when Fran asked that the PA be turned off for the final song and they played Flowers in the Window. It was was beautiful.

Republic Tigers were also very cool. They brought a lot of energy and definitely set the stage for Travis.

Here is the set list from Salt Lake:

Three Times And You Lose
Chinese Blues
Writing To Reach You
J. Smith
Selfish Jean
Re-Offender
Something Anything
Long Way Down
Love Will Come Through
Closer
Driftwood
Side
Eyes Wide Open
Falling Down
Sing
The Humpty Dumpty Love Song
All I Wanna Do Is Rock
Before You Were Young
Turn

Hit Me Baby One More Time
Why Does It Always Rain On Me
Slide Show
Blue Flashing Light
Flowers In The Window

They played the intro for Three Times and then they jumped right into Chinese Blues. Also Eyes Wide Open was worked into the middle of Side. All in all it was a great performance.

Fran and the boys were remarkable. Thanks for putting on such a great show. My wife came to the show w/ me and she's 6 months pregnant with our 3rd boy. I hope that she will let me name him Fran or Dougie. We'll probably have to settle w/ Andy. Sorry Neil, your name isn't our most favorite, but we'll definitely loved your raspberry shirt. My sister has the same one. Please, come back to Salt Lake soon.

I thoroughly enjoyed the show. I had seen Travis the first time they came through SLC opening up for Ben Folds Five at the Bar and Grill in March 1996 (13 years ago Fran, not 11!)

It was great to hear new stuff as well as classics from "The Man Who".

Flowers in the Attic was a great show closer as well.

Overall a fantastic performance, you could tell the band was very much into the gig unlike some others that have passed through SLC (yes, you Julian from the Strokes).

What an amazing show Travis put on for us in SLC! This was my third time seeing them live and as always, they put on an incredible show! The venue was great and the sound was too. They started off with a bang playing 3 Times and You Lose going right into Chinese Blues. I was so excited about this as 3 Times and You Lose is one of my favorites! They played a great mix of old and new throughout the night. Hearing some of the songs off Ode to J. Smith live was incredible! I especially loved hearing J. Smith and Before You Were Young (with the gong!) Okay, who am I kidding, I loved hearing everything they played! During Closer, Fran held out the mic for the crowd to sing along. Everyone was really into it and Fran even complimented us on our singing. The Side/Eyes Wide Open/Side mix was a BIG highlight. Wow! The two songs flowed perfectly together. During Falling Down, Fran went out into the crowd to sing and made some fans very happy by dancing with them. The Humpty Dumpty Love Song was a highlight for me as well. And of course, no Travis show is complete without AIWTDIR, and Travis certainly rocked that one! Andy standing on the orange amps and Fran jumping off the drums is classic. Loved hearing Dougie sing his lines in Turn too! When the guys came back out for the encore, Fran joked about how we were all there at the show because the Britney Spears show was sold out and we wanted to have something to do. This of course was far from the truth! But with that, they went into playing Hit Me Baby One More Time...which rocked! I was happy to finally hear the guys play this one live. Next up was WDIAROM and during the song Fran stopped and said it was tradition to do the pogo at the end, during the chorus, and the SL show was no exception! So we all pogoed at the end and yes our calves were sore but worth it! There is nothing like doing the pogo to bond people together. :) After that they played Blue Flashing Light which was also incredible to hear live. Another treat was hearing Slideshow next. My husband was especially excited to hear this one. He even offered someone $5 on the board if they could get the guys to play that one. So, I guess he owes someone $5! Last but not least was Flowers in the Window unplugged. What a great way to end the show! As they were leaving the stage, Fran reached out and shook many of our hands. Pretty cool if you ask me!

Like I said...an amazing show and we Salt Lakers were so incredibly happy that they chose to stop here on this tour! We hope that they won't wait so long to come back again. They were full of energy and gave us quite the night! Travis is always such a great band to see and last night was no exception. They really put their hearts into it and you can tell they really love what they do. Not only does their music totally rock, but their interaction with the crowd and their genuine kindness makes them even more lovable and a great band to see live. Hands down they are the best and it's really no wonder at all why we all love them so much. Thanks so much guys for another rockin' show!

When you're good, you're good and Travis; you boys are GREAT! So as far as reviews go, there's not much more to say. Excellent show last night.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for making a stop in Salt Lake City! Keep playing that beautiful music and best wishes for the rest of your tour.
