This was a brilliant experience as always.
God I love this band.

They played two B-sides. The devastatingly sweet “Village man”. Strong urge to hug Fran when he sang, “I don't really want to roll tonight I only want to hold you tight “

And then to thrill all the Dougie devotees, Fran and Dougie swapped instruments and Dougie sang “Ring out the Bell.” Such a sweet and gentle song and such a novelty to hear it live & sung by the man himself.

The new songs sound better and better each time I hear them. “Song to Myself” really hit the spot this time. I loved the pleading “Do you see the light? Tell me you see the light!”
The support band The Alexandria Quartet. were excellent. Missed my chance to get their CD at the end of the gig (sad face) Can’t wait to catch them live again.
I’m such a girl saying this, but Neil’s new hairstyle really suits him. Looking good! That said, they were all as charismatic and gorgeous as always.
Travis, ich habe euch soooooooooooooo Lieb!!!! Thank you so much for sharing your music. The world would be a greyer place without it!

------------------------

Best day of my life! We had to wait quite long but then they finally got on stage at 9ish...
They opened with the first 2 songs of Ode to J.Smith wich just rocked! (Well for the rest look above)

Special: They played the B-Sides: Village man and Ring out the bell - wich was just brilliant - both!

Fran tried playing the bass, while Dougie took over the guitar and played his song - was just damn great!
During the last 3 bars he failed and started laughing - but all the same: Great!

Dougie played like a god - very fast - very clear - beautiful basslines!

They all very great!

Highlites were: Love will come through,
Turn (The hall was "moving"!!!), Selfish Jean, WDROM - but also Something anything (brilliant guitar solo) or Closer - where the hall tried to sing the chorus - were fun!

To sum up:

It was the best concert I've ever seen in my whole life!!!! Thx for that!
(was standing right before Dougie)

Bit late...but this was FANTASTIC.
(& Definitely worth the snowstorm and icy conditions on the motorway, which made the trip to Munich a bit...less enjoyable than usual.)

The new stuff (though I suppose it's not actually that new anymore now) sounds ridiculously good live! Each Ode song was outstanding. & Chinese Blues must be the best opener ever, right?

It might be corny to mention this, but one of the things I love most about Travis gigs is the diversity of the audience. The mixture of generations going on in the first few rows was amazing. It's a difficult thing to describe, but being equally excited about the same piece of music as someone perhaps three times your age, is sort of a cool thing.

Also, thanks to the band for caring enough about the couple of people in the crowd who'll know the b-sides to play them. Means more than you might think.
(& Believe us, we were thrilled to bits.)
