What a tiny and amazing venue! This was my 4th Travis concert and I must admit the most unbelievably brilliant experience from start to finish. From meeting up with old Travis friends out in line beforehand to meeting brand new ones. To spending the evening in the front row directly in front of Mr. Andy Dunlop. No barricades, no formalities, just a couple hundred people hanging out and enjoying themselves for a couple of hours. With some of the best music in the universe. The setlist was very nearly perfect, even being treated to an acoustic solo Fran version of Pipe Dreams. Andy decided that he was going to go out onto the patio during AIWDIS since there wasn't really anywhere for him to jump or climb. However, climbing back onto the stage proved to be a bit of a challenge, finally finding a spot in the corner, only to have Fran run over and throw himself on top of the poor guy, yelling "Pile On!" haha

My ears are still ringing and I can barely see from exhaustion, but it was a magical night. I can't wait to repeat it next tour!

The FineLine. . . tiny yes, amazing? No. Like Fran said "It's an alley with a band at the end of it." The band, however, was playing, as pictureinwhite said "some of the best music in the universe".
TRAVIS is just so much bigger than that tiny little stage. The '07 show at First Ave, was, (again quoting pictureinwhite)"the best live show I've seen by ANYONE, EVER!" !!!
Having said all that, The show was still incredible, the set list was perfect, the sound was great, the lights were great, but when you see TRAVIS you are in the presence of purity, They resonate a genuine Humility and Happiness that makes you just want to be there.
I would see TRAVIS sober in a church basement, but PLEASE come back to FIRST AVENUE!!! I just want to be there.

Travis gave an A+ effort, as always. Their dialogue was the crowd was fantastic, they were even more casual than normal and really seemed to connect with the crowd. Fantastic job, boys. They truely are one of the best live bands ever.

The venue was definitely too small, the sightlines are not good at the Fine Line. Outside of venue selection, the only other gripe I have was the setlist was too similar to their last show in '07. Only 4 songs off the new album?

All I want to know is... why did Travis pass on the opportunity to play "The Line Is Fine" at the FINE LINE for crying out loud?!? :-)

Superb show, as always. Andy soloing out in the middle of the alley was one of many highlights of the evening. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing "Eyes Wide Open" sandwiched in between "Side" - transitional magic!

I'm glad the boys keep coming back to our fine city of Minneapolis - the fans are rabid here for sure. Can't wait for their return!

This was my second Travis show... first was at the State Theatre in Minneapolis. But this was such a better venue... small and intimate... and perfect. Yes, it was a bit over booked and there was no place to stand without touching at least five people but that's okay. The setlist was great and the opening act, Republic Tigers, really got the crowd fired up. I always forget that Travis live is not the slow, beautiful band we hear on the albums... they really, Really, REALLY rock! And they really work a crowd... more then any other band I know. So great show guys... Fine Line, next time twenty less people would be advisable.

Ok, here's my 2 cents :)

I've seen them at the State in '01, 1st Ave a couple years back and now again at Fine Line. The boys played brilliantly at all three locations, but overall, I enjoyed the shows much more at the first two venues. Fine Line is too small for a band with a following this size and becoming a human sardine definitely took away from my experience. (along with the aforementioned sight-lines) As someone posted previously, 1st Ave was a perfect spot. I dig seeing Travis at a club over a sit down theater any day of the week. . . . but it has to be a BIG club. As I stated before, this truly has nothing to do with the band, they were awesome. Thanks for playing your hearts out guys.
