It's been 9 years since I had the good fortune to see Travis live opening for Oasis at the Tower Theatre in Philly. Since that time I've been a loyal fan although I haven't had the opportunity to see them live again. Last night's show was definitely worth the wait! The band was absolutely on point. Travis, no doubt, has proved their showmanship. There was a great vibe and amazing effort from a band that's been around long enough to really not have to give much. You never once felt like they were "going through the motions" and they kept the energy level high for a full 2 hours. The set consisited of choice cuts from each of their 6 albums and made for a great mix....yeah, I'm sure everyone said "I wish they had played...." but overall the set contained about 24 songs and didn't leave much to complain about (other than some fan favorite album cuts..i.e. She's So Strange, How Many Hearts, Big Chair...etc.). The highlights of the set were Ode To J.Smith, All I Want To Do Is Rock (Andy's speaker mounting guitar solo being the highlight of the night), Falling Down with Fran leaving the stage and making his way through the audience, the Side-Eyes Wide Open medley, and the acoustic Flowers In The Window encore. The band themselves looked great although I have no idea how Dougie played bass for 2 hours in a P-Coat...I was in a t-shirt and I was sweating. Amazing gig, best I've seen since the Elbow gig at Webster Hall in NYC and further proof that Travis is an amazing yet underrated band(at least here in the States). Keep up the good work guys...looking forward to seeing you again soon.

The first half of the show was a little slow-going, but picked up pretty quickly once the boys hit their stride, or perhaps the Philly crowd did. The sound problems that the Republic Tigers had clearly made their way into Travis's set; Fran looked frustrated throughout by what was going on with his equipment. He had to restart Closer because of top feedback from his acoustic guitar, and I could hear low feedback during the rest of the song. But the singing from the crowd filled in nicely and by song's end the crowd had muffled the sound of the feedback. The setlist had some really GREAT surprises -- AIWDIR; Blue Flashing; RING OUT THE BELL!! (which i hadn't heard since they toured the Invisible Band). Fran dedicated Humpty Dumpty to the Posse, which was really nice and unexpected (thankkkkkssss!) especially bc HDLS is one of our favorites live. It was also great to hear Falling Down, bc we've been seeing the band for nearly 10 years now but have never heard it live. The Side mashup was phenomenal; it made both songs sound new and really exciting. I couldn't believe how much energy the band was exerting, bc they were taking very short breaks between pretty intense songs (Blue Flashing into pogoing WDIAROM?? don't you need a breather?). The material off the new album sounds much better live and translates better with the rockier treatment. And how funny was Nick and the gong! Someone get the man a permanent gong-banging job! (oh wait, maybe this is it) Can't wait for the NYC show!

Tonight’s Philly show was the fourth Travis show that ihave been to and it clearly was the best one! The boys were phenomenal!! They were all in great spirits and looked as if they were having a great time! The crowd was also getting into the band which always makes for a great compliment. The set list was great as well. I don’t there was anything they left off that I was upset about seeing. I did notice that they took out Fran’s solo acoustic bit after the first encore, (I saw them do this in Minneapolis on 4/17/09) however “Ring out the Bell” more than made up for it! Highlights for me were “Ode to J Smith,” (loved the praying Fran) “AIWTDIR,” “Side-Eyes Wide Open-Side,” “Ring out the Bell,” “Turn,” “Blue Flashing Light,” and of course “Flowers in the Window.” My only wish is that it could go on longer, I didn’t want the show to end! I hope next time Travis comes to Philly they will play the TLA again! It was a nicer venue and safer area then the Tower or the Electric Facorty which they played before. I want to thank the band for allowing cameras. It really is awesome when fans can have photos of their concert memories. ( I hope they didn’t mind me taking so many photos- at least I kept the flash off) Thanks again boys for the wonderful show! I can’t wait to see you in Philly again!!!

Awesome show!! As always! I had two friends with me that have never been to a concert before (how that happened I don't know!) and never heard of Travis. They loved it! Travis puts on the best concerts I have every been too. Can't wait till they come around again. I had to travel from NY to see them! Can anyone give a setlist? I'm blanking on a few, thanks!

I've seen every Philly show Travis has played since 2000 and this has to be one of my all time favorites. Great selection of songs from all the albums, and Dougie singing Ring Out the Bell was a treat too! The guys have such insane energy on stage, and I felt like the crowd really matched it for a change...just gives you a warm fuzzy feeling inside, you know? especially with the Flowers in the Window finale :)

here's my best guess at a setlist. It's probably way out of order in the middle but I think I at least have all of the songs. I hope someone will post if I missed any!

3 Times And You Lose/Chinese Blues
Writing To Reach You
J. Smith
Something Anything
Long Way Down
Selfish Jean

Completely awesome! This was my 2nd Travis show, 3rd if you want to count the WRNR in MD Showcase last Thursday with Fran and Andy - which was the perfect appetizer to Friday night's brilliant set list! I loved every second of it! Got there nice and early and had a spot right down front...it was a long time for my pregnant body to stand but TOTALLY worth it!!! Had my hubby with me, who usually hates concerts, and I mean hates concerts, I have to drag him with me most times. It was his 1st show and he LOVED it too! We are both eagerly awaiting a return by the boys to Philly and surrounding areas! Have to say too, to the Philly crowd, you guys rock!!! I love the atmosphere at a Travis show, couldn't be better people!
