As usual Travis delivered a bloody amazing show tonight, LOVE YOU GUYS. I am pregnant and still managed to pogo -never miss a chance.
Till the next time...

Just a wonderful show tonight, so full of energy. I've only gone to one of Travis's shows in the past (Taipei 2008)and it was in a much bigger venue, with a very different set of songs and vibe. This one was much more intimate and, well, sweaty. But with the usual wholeheartedness that defines Travis's live shows.
One of the highlights for me is New Amsterdam. Fran, you made a new yorker's dream come true.
Can someone post the setlist? I had been trying to remember, but it all went out the window when Fran stepped down into the audience and started shaking hands and HUGGING people!
(I'm one of the lucky people... Am considering not showering again ever... just joking... kind of.)
Here's what I remember went down, in no order at all:

The first part of 3 Times and You Lose
Chinese Blues
Writing to Reach You
J. Smith
Selfish Jean
Love Will Come Thru
Side --> Eyes Wide Open --> Side (not sure)
Before You Were Young
Driftwood
Closer
Something Anything
Sing
Turn
... and i'm blanking out

--
New Amsterdam
Why does it Always Rain on Me?
Flowers in the Window

please feel free to complete the list!

once again, great job you guys!!

I was in such a bad mood when I got to Webster Hall because my husband had stood me up (work) and I was on my own. I needn't have worried, I was pogo-ing with the rest of 'em and was on a natural high all night despite being on my own and feeling a bit blue. Travis are just BRILLIANT. What an amazing atmosphere they created.

True musicianship and talent in a world full to the brim with utter crap and contrived "musical" bollocks. Highlights for me: Travis' "National Anthem" (he he); My Eyes; Sing; Re-Offender; Love Will Come Through - who am I kidding -I LOVED em all.

Possibly the best gig I have ever been to - and I've seen the Avett Brothers who put on one hell of a show. Thanks guys. You are CLASS.

every couple of years sweat forms in my crevices like i've just ran a marathon, lose my voice, get ass-rammed by strangers doing the pogo, and look like fools with my best friends.

it has, is, and will always be a moment of genuine happiness for me. travis shows never fail to make me feel that way. and as a new mom, i took in many of the songs in such a different light.

thank you for keeping aiwtdir.
thank you for nick and that gong.

cheers & luv,
lesley

a great show the other night... wasnt as good as irving in 07, but still great. the new songs sounded much better live.. loved the setlist & nice to see the guys get creative with the segues & transitions (3times -> chinese blues, side -> eyes wide open -> side, etc.) my only complaint was a 62 min. main set. As a musician myself, I know there are some things that are beyond the performer's control.. by for 45 bux a ticket, I would expect a little more.. especially on a saturday night! but, like i said, it was prob. out of their hands.. darn webster hall! next time, their promoter should find a different venue.. but still glad i went! : )

Loved the show - but agree it wasn't as good as Irving in 2007. Wished my friends could have gone with me - but I got the last ticket - as it sold out in 15 minutes. Damn Ticketmaster!!!
I read the article in Daily News about the show. Don't think I agree when the writer said Fran had no ambition alluding to the mainstream success ala Coldplay. I love TRAVIS as is. I prefer intimate performances rather than arena size. You always leave a TRAVIS live show feeling all is well with the world.

Please come back soon for another show - a year is too long.

This was the first time I had a chance to see my favorite band alive! I am a big fan since the first album and was so happy to be right there in front of the stage. I will see Fran again next Tuesday this time at Joes Pub and can't wait to post my pictures.
