I finally made it over here to the community archive ...very ad there are no photos to upload, yet. This was my first and only Travis show. It ws that good that I have signed up logged in set up a profile blah blah blah to get here. I was fortunate enough to go with my brothers and sister and my "lil cuz" MLo. We are all big Travis fans and it ws the first show for all of us. Good friends of ours turned us on to them years ago while someone was back in the motherland for avisit.
We came from all directions and met up for a few at the Parlour up on 86th. We met up with some friends who were also going to the show there and it was quite a joyous jaunt over to the beacon. We continued to enjoy the cocktails well into the first act, singing our arses off all the while . So much fun in the nosebleeds of the beacon (ha ha, like there are any) not too much for for the people who sat in front of us and I mean literally sat the entire time, albeit a bit soggy for them. Anywho, we marched down to the front without a problem and the second act was even bettter than the first. the Beacon is such a great place to see anyone. We were well on our way but it was quite memorable... Frannie in his white suit and Dougie not keeping a straight face for more than a minute. I can't wait to see them again, hopefully they'll be back and I'll be back across the pond when the planets are aligned just so I am in the same hemisphere as they are :)

Quite possibly one of the most memorable Travis shows I've been to so far. The boys were flawless and enthusiastic as always, despite the fact that Fran was battling some form of the flu. Key moments -- being singled out to play Fran's guitar for a few seconds during "All I Wanna Do Is Rock," and hearing the beautifully haunting tribute to Elliott Smith, who had died the day before. Graham Nash's "Another Sleep Song" was dedicated to Elliott's memory and that song still plays in my head sometimes, a year after hearing it live for the very first time. Amazing! Also the first time seeing the band in a city other than home (I live in L.A.), and my first time meeting them after a show. All in all, a truly special and magical experience :) Thanks for the memories, guys!

SUCH A GREAT SHOW! and then afterwards i gave andy a guitar strap that i made for him (out of a red bus seatbelt), not really expecting anything to come of it, though i personally really liked the strap, hehe. but he ACTUALLY wore/wears it (on his favourite guitar, no less, as he said to me), which is so awesome, particularly since i got to see it in action. now i just hope that it doesn't fall apart or something!
