We arrived in Nottingham yesterday from London. On the way I was woken by Remy Zero playing on the Jo Whiley show. This is a show on the UK's biggest radio station BBC Radio 1 and is broadcast in the afternoon. Jo's support for up and coming bands is relentless. She is an angel on the airwaves. So yeah, Remy on the radio. Sounded fantastic. Their single is out on November 1st.

Anyways, arrived at the venue and dropped Ross's diary onto this page. Nottingham Rock City. Famous British venue. Number 1 club in Nottingham. Voted top club in the UK in 1995. Everyone from Van Halen to Rolf Harris have played here. Hells Angels security. We feel safe. Nobody messes with the Angels.

We are interviewed by a young guy who?s communication skills are shite. Before the interview he goes up to the cooks and the crew who are listening to the rugby and tells them in a very unsafe way to turn the radio off. Poor. They are quietly persuaded to refrain from hurting him.

I watch 'Remy' soundcheck. I want to sing 'Hermes Bird'. Cinjun Tate, vocalist, taught me the chords. '...As life lies in shattered blows...' Shattered blows? I thought it was 'shattered bowls'. God, my ears!

The flu that fell upon the tour when we began in Glasgow is subsiding. Jeremy, though, looks like he's the last one to catch it.

Last time we played here was in the downstairs venue. It was a warm up show for the first tour and was a cracker so tonight promises to be a goody. Both bands aren't disappointed. Remy play effortlessly. I just wish I could watch from the front. Lately it's been difficult to do this. I'm gonna make it to the front before the end of the tour though.

Travis tonight have a top show. It's the crowd. A good crowd of people who are up for a night to remember is something else. Nottingham rocked. 2000 people getting down. I am forced to the floor to do press ups. (The Video for 'Turn' will haunt me forever more).

The venue turns into a nightclub after the show so both bands hang backstage for a while and drink some wine. The Remy's have to go to Manchester tonight. When they depart we saunter into the club and Jeremy and I dance to 'Blame it on the Boogie','Disco Inferno' and ' Sex Machine'. Jeremy is a fine dancer and people look on in awe. So as Ross mixes his 'Strawberry Build-up' we are now on our way to Liverpool. The Royal Court awaits.
