this was my first show.
I flew from Ottawa, Canada to spend two weeks following Travis around England.
I got to the venue early around 2 maybe feeling a little sick from the night before and not knowing whether or not there would be a long queue. I wanted to be right up front.
Travis got there somewhere between 4 and 5 and I decided to try following them into the venue since the 2 girls who had been waiting had done so.
I got in without a problem and got to watch travis soundcheck which was really exciting. I think they played AIWDIR, driftwood, luv, WTRY and maybe one or two others. After they were done Fran stayed on playing to himself a song I didnt know, which turned out to be Remy Zero's hermes bird which Fran really liked. I then watched Remy Zero soundcheck and met some of the other fans who had it made it in.
We got to meet the band who were really nice. Fran gave me some chocolate and some tea and that was really cool.
Then for the show I was right in the front near Fran and it was amazing. It was unbelievable for me to see how many people loved Travis. UK audiences were different to what I was used to clapping along to songs and singing along more freely than people in Toronto and Montreal. It was the best concert I had ever been to and I knew that it was worth the trip.
