At around about 9pm that night we were all in the wee dressing room, backstage, relatives and friends all saying hello.

I slunk away to a quiet corner out of the way of everyone and chilled for a moment. We were playing at the Barrowlands last night.

The Barrowlands is a famous Glasgow land mark. Our parents danced there before we were born and when we got born and when we were old enough to hold a pint without it looking suspiciously too big we would go and see bands play there.

The first band I saw at the Barrowlands was a band called Hue and Cry. I was 15 and it was a cool, cool thing. Queuing up outside, going in through the door, ticket ripped, up the stairs which split on either side to the next floor and then another floor. It's not high up; we just like our stairs here in Glasgow.

Then you come through these double doors and you're in. The Barrowlands is the best venue in the UK. It holds 2000 people. A dark blue ceiling arches slightly and is covered in stars.

5 minutes before we go on and the dressing room is full of smoke. Dougie and Andy are jumping up and down, Neil is drumming on the table and Jeremy is thinking about his soon to be born anydaynow baby. I join Andy and Dougie and we jump.

Then its time to go on. We walk through the doors into the dancehall next to the stage. The atmosphere is electric. We are rushed to the back of the stage as the house lights go 'BLACKOUT'. Everything goes bananas.

Before any show we huddle. Andy always leads the huddle. " Breathe in... breathe out... breathe in... breathe out...in... out...". Tonight though we sing along with the intro music. 'On the Street Where You live'.

Then we all walk on stage. The cheer sounds like a jumbo jet taking off. The room feels amazing. Really and truly amazing. The sound of 2000 people singing 'All Want To Do Is Rock'. I don't want to ruin it by trying to put into words.

Best bits about tonight. It was all good. Another little defining moment for Travis. A big moment. The best gig we've played. The best crowd we've played to. A real Elvis moment. All of the people, friends and family that needed to be there were there. There was no driftwood. It was a very lean night.

After the show was a blur. It was Nora's birthday tonight. We all sung Happy Birthday in the Hotel Bar. She got some cool presents among them a book of Linda McCartney's photography. All journalistic and reportagy. Captured moments in music history.

When you record something it becomes forever and you will always remember it. That is why I guess I'm writing this. So's not to forget tonight or this tour or anything for that matter.
