Well, I wasnt actually at this show. but I listened to it on the radio. Travis were sick and only did 5 songs I believe. The Live X show is a pretty good show. check it out at www.99x.com Bands like Radiohead, Coldplay, and Travis have all been on there. Usually if 99x is promoting the bands concert, the band will do a live X for 99x.
First of all, I'd like to thank atlaimee for the head up on this show.
I hardly listened to the radio so I didnt know Travis was doing a Live X for the local radio station.
In order to get in for the show, one must call in and answer a question.
I sat by my radio one afternoon, hoping I'd catch them asking the questions. I remembered it was a sunny afternoon. Hehe...
Anyways, the questions were announced. They asked why Travis called Travis. I called in right at that moment, thinking not that many people in Atlanta would know the answer to this question. While I was trying to get thru the damn line, they CHANGED the question to where Travis is from. Grr.... That was not fair... too easy.
I got thru and won passes to go. It was at this studio in Atlanta. I really liked the setting. It was very intimate. There were about 150 people. We all sat on the floor, enjoying the wonderful acoustic set by the boys.
The set was short. But it had to be one of the best show Ive been to. This is how I always wanted to see Travis (only with a longer set. Hehe).
After the set, there was a signing session in the back room. atlaimee and I got in first. Fran was sitting at the end of the table. Right when I walked in, he went, "Hi Eliza!" I know this is gonna sound stupid but that made my day! HAHA I honestly didnt think he would recognize me after not seeing them for such long time. :)
My first time seeing Travis in such inimate setting was a lot of fun. I hope this wouldnt the last time. It'd be nice to see them at the Cotton Club next time they come... whenever that will be. :)
