I wrote this in my diary on Sept 7, 2000:

9/7 - I got home around 140 this morning after the Travis show. That show is up there with Oasis/Travis @ Boston.
Let's see... I got to Roseland around 230, and found my bunch of Travis friends whom I'd met at Letterman. There were 5 of us, and 2 moms, and basically, we were camped out at hte front of the line talking. We were told that Dougie was at the back entrance walking around. So we went over, and waited, and after awhile, Andy came by. We stopped him, talked, took pictures, and had him autograph stuff, and then we stood and waited. I got my Travis shirt signed. He was really cute, he told us a story about his goldfish Archie in that cute Scottish brogue, and we were all just charmed.

Roseland security was awful. They were so disorganized and took them a long time to get the line settled. Les reminded the security that we had been in the front since hours ago, so we let us stay at the front of the line. Then we were going in, and pretty much RAN to the front. I was at the barracade between Dougie and Fran. Remy Zero opened for them, and their lead singer sounded like a cross between Fran & Bono. They were pretty groovy. Eclectic rock. Someone screamed out "YOURE SO MUCH BETTER THAN THIRD EYE BLIND!" and we started chuckling, and then someone whispered "The guy from Third Eye Blind is here" and I turned around to the VIP section, and indeed, Stephen Jenkins was wearing a GI Joe suit, and sitting by himself. Around the 2nd to last song, we spotted Fran and Dougie on the balcony listening, and could see them bopping their heads, and swaying in unison to the music. AUUUGH it was so cute.

The show began, and they opened with U16Girls which is one of my faves from the first album, and about the one song from it that I wanted to hear the most. People started jumping up and down (as did I), and people were pushing each other, I was pushed agaianst the barracades, but I was fine with it because well... the show was genearl admission so these things are to be expected. Around the 3rd song though, there was an annoying drunk Scot 2 ppl behind me who was teetering around, pushing the girl behind me into me, and then a drunken idiot who was following over people, but security came over and yelled at him, and then they disappeared after a few songs.

Dougie is so cute. Fran rarely looked at the front row, but Dougie did, and since I was near him, he saw me a lot. Every time we made eye contact, I smiled, Dougie smiled back, and he started bouncing and doing his silly head thrusts, and i started laughing and HE started laughing too! This happened a lot... he kept me laughing during most of the show. Fran gave me a smile and a wink, but that was about it.

After the show, we were looking at the VIP section to see who the celebs were, we only saw Stephen Jenkins and Leona Naess, and then the security cleared us out, so we went to the back entrance. We waited til 1230, and Neil came out, so we went and talked to him. I got a pic with him & my shirt signed, and we could see right into their tour bus, and after a bit, they closed the bus curtains, but there ws a crack so I could see him inside anyway.

Fran never came out from the back, he left early in the front, which upset one of my friends very much. Andy and Dougie left in the front by cab.
