I'll never forget that day.It was the day my soul had awoken. It was the first time i went to a festival, the first time that music got inside my soul,i remember crying buckets, and it was raining at times.Travis were something else, something i had never experienced, something i thought wasn't possible.Just that overwhelming feeling of emotions rising to the surface. That was the day i realised how precious music is.I will treasure the memories of that day and would like to thank Travis for helping me dig deeper into my soul.
I remember it was quite a nice day and during Rain on Me it bloody poured down! Buckets and buckets and as soon as the song was over, so was the rain!
Got some great pix of me and my mates during the song completely soaked but loving at the same time!
This was the first time i had actually ever seen Travis at a gig and in fact it was my first ever festival- well i was only 16!! I won the tickets through Melody Maker magazine (oh how i miss it so!) and i was so made up because i knew i would see them! Woooooooo!
I was totally blown away by them and the way Fran affectionately spoke about their songs; never known any band to be so close to their audience before!
It was a fair few years ago now but i still vividly remember the slideshow that appeared during 'Slideshow' (obviously!) and it really pulled my heart strings- so emotional! And i particulary remember seeing the bands bums hahaha! And the fact that it did actually start raining when they sang 'Why Does It Always Rain On Me?' was so apt. A fantastic ending to a fantastic day.
Thank you Melody Maker (come back!) for choosing me to win the tickets and get to see my favourite band for the first ever time!! Without soundign like a gimp, it totally changed my life!! xxxx
I went to V2000 had just come back from my year abroad at Uni and had got into the habit of getting 2 pints at a time, had looked forward to seeing Travis for years. Would be my first show
By time they had come on, I had about 19 pints. I remember jumping up and down to a song at the start, but thst is all I remember to this day!!!
Luckily, I have seen them at Wembley. Hammersmith and remember the concerts!
The Astoria show in 2 days time will be my 4 th time seeing Travis, but only 3rd I'll remember!
from what I'm told the boys were great and I enjoyed reading others comments on the show
