Wow!, still my most favorite Travis show. Drove to LA from Phoenix to see the boyz for the first time. Great to see them in the small historic club in West Hollywood, before they broke. "The Man Who" was not yet released in the states. Fran and co.were doing a short promo tour. You could tell they were impressed with the reception they recieved from the crowd. Over 21 standing main floor, under 21 were forced to sit upstairs. Remy Zero opened the show. Both bands are friends and they all seem to be having a blast. It was my first impression of Remy Zero as well. I arrived at the show early, doors weren't open yet, so me and my partner decided to hit a few gay bars, before hand. I noticed Neil out front talking to some young fans in line. The show was a blast, my partner got to shake Fran's hand after the set. We were a few bodies from the stage. And we both went back to our motel room in pure bliss. wish every travis show, was that good. They were dead on very tight. Loved their energy that night. I remembered the actor who played the whacked out roommate from Notting Hill and the lead singer of Sterophonics came on stage at one point. It all is a bit of a blur. Many a moons ago. I made a small shadow box/shrine to hour the two day trip. We stayed in Santa Monica, the only place in LA I's live.
Cheers, Kevin
