It’s sticky and muggy in Liverpool. Ugh πŸ₯΅ Good to hear recording is going well – can’t believe you’ve been together 30 years! Where does the time go?? Sending love x

Yes, I used to look forward to those. I really feel like Andy got something positive out of it aswell, with the amount of times he used his sketches to open up about mental health (sorry Andy, hope you don’t mind me bringing that up). A lot of them were far, far more than just quick doodles. I’d love to see them on display somewhere, to see them as a whole body of work.

Well, I don’t know what the actual amount is as I’ve lost count, but I fear I have surely missed my 67 moment. Crushed! πŸ˜†

I’ve only seen them in the UK and Paris, but I’ve certainly clocked up some milage. No idea how many time I’ve seen them live, I stopped counting around 65. This was back in my youth though, I hardly ever go to gigs now 🫀

We’re seeing them at Wythenshaw Park in Manchester on August 21st 😊

My daughter is into late 70s/early 80s alt/ post punk/ goth/ new wave stuff so I’m currently listening to an eclectic mix of bands I missed the first time around when I was too young to appreciate anything that wasn’t straight-down-the-line pop music! We’re seeing The Cure in August – super excited!

Hey Missymoo πŸ™‹πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ I was there on the barrier too! I very clearly remember spending most of the day desperate for the toilet and I also appeared on the big screens as the camera man decided to film me falling asleep during Ocean Colour Scene. Not my finest moment! Travis were great though! πŸ˜†

Oh man, that’s sad. One of the greats. I’ve seen some of his works displayed at the Tate, I used to visit there quite frequently when I lived down South. I also remember, many many years ago, the first time I met my husband, he referenced David Hockney in a conversation and I knew then that we were a good match! Rest in peace, David.

I remember hearing the singles from the first album on the radio (I’m pretty sure I bought Happy on CD single), but the first time I noticed them properly was at the Bude Surf and Rock festival in the Summer of 1998, and they never got rid of me after that!

My favourite is Before You Were Young. Ode To J Smith was released the same week I got married and I just remember listening to that song loads. It’s beautiful ❀️
My favourite song to hear live has always been Turn.

in reply to: Off topic: What’s your fave dish/meal/food? #1626
    Jules

I love cooking basically anything (the truth is, I just love food πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ), but my favourite cuisine is probably South Indian. However, I did cook one of our favourite family meals last night, which is actually a Jamaican chicken curry, with rice and rotis – imagine a big pot of super spicy, coconutty curried chicken and vegetable stew πŸ˜‹
We need to pin this topic, even though it’s not Travis related, because I could talk about food all day every day πŸ˜†

My favourite gig has to be Birmingham, absolutely no idea which tour or what year now (Keane were supporting, if that helps!) and it was my 50th Travis show. Fran gave myself and my friend a wonderful dedication from the stage and I’ve never forgotten it. I felt such love that night, and I still carry it with me. Thankyou, guys!

Heya! I’ve just re-joined and have now fallen down a rabbit hole catching up on all these threads! I can’t remember what my user name was back in the day – I think myself and my then gig-buddy spliced our names together and I may have been ‘Jules&Wendy’?? I definitely recognise some of the names on here though, and it’s good to see you all πŸ™‚

I’m through the menopause and out the other side now (shows how long it’s been since I was last on here – I’m ancient! πŸ˜†), but yes, I remember it well… Throwing the sheets off in a state of panic thinking I’m about to spontaneously combust! Fun times indeed πŸ₯΄

I couldn’t remember my old user name, or Log in details, but these days I can’t remember what I did five minutes ago, so it’s little wonder! But anyway, hello, good to be back 😊
