Hi, all. Capo here, same board username circa 2001 or so. Happy to be back with other fans!
Where have you all seen Travis? What were your favorite gigs?
Me: Boston, San Diego, LA, Seattle (Fran solo), Tokyo, North Berwick (UK), and Seoul.
Fun to see the cultural differences of crowds at gigs! Also nice to know the guys deliver the same energy on stage wherever they go. I always have the best time.
Seoul crowds throw paper airplanes on stage during the chorus of a song. Loved that.
(Backstory: I’m an American living in Japan with besties in Saltcoats.)

Long time fan that saw them for the first time in Brisbane in Jan this year. They had a long hiatus between Australian tours, and we are hoping they stick to their promise to return Down Under in less than 25 years 😂

That’s v impressive! Have only been to gigs in UK and Australia and have seen Travis in both – UK Bridlington Spa of all places (small venue NE coast) and Brisbane, Australia in Jan. That’s only 8 hours drive from us up in Tropical Central QLD so not as far as you travelled!
Hard to say re cultural differences because in Brisbane there are tonnes of Brits, particularly Scots. At Deacon Blue gig in 2023 it was a veritable Glaswegian-fest! Do think Travis a bit more diverse though and a better age range, not just old(er) farts like me.

Yeah they definitely have a very diverse fan base! It’s so cool. It was interesting to see the contrast between the American crowds and the quiet/polite Japanese crowds. I went when travel was slower (right after the height of Covid) and ended up being one of the only non-Japanese people at the gig. Fran even told the crowd something like, “It’s wonderful that you are considerate of each other’s experiences but it’s okay to sing along” and so I did a little bit! Amazing experience and made some friends. I’d love to see a gig in Australia like you! Sounds amazing.

I’ve only seen them in the UK and Paris, but I’ve certainly clocked up some milage. No idea how many time I’ve seen them live, I stopped counting around 65. This was back in my youth though, I hardly ever go to gigs now 🫤

65! That’s incredible! You sure you don’t want to pull 2 more and make it 67? Sorry, I’m a teacher – So these teenagers have me wrapped up in their slang sometimes 🙂

Well, I don’t know what the actual amount is as I’ve lost count, but I fear I have surely missed my 67 moment. Crushed! 😆
