This show was almost everything we've come to expect from Travis. The set list was spot on, I don't think we could've asked for a better selection of songs. It featured a bit of everything from Good Feeling through Where You Stand. The venue was the lovely, historic Lincoln Theater in DC, which unfortunately includes assigned seating. Pogo didn't happen during WDIAROM due to the seats but there was a delightful and beautiful, fully acoustic version of Flowers.
I'm not sure if the guys had a limited amount of time on the stage or if they just wanted to pack in as many songs as possible but there wasn't as much talk/banter from Fran. This was missed by my friends and I but, if it allowed for extra songs, I'm not going to complain too much. :)
We waited around for a bit afterwards but we weren't sure if they were going to come out. I love that the guys usually visit with fans after the show but, my friends needed to go and I wasn't going to be that creepy person waiting on the sidewalk by myself.
At the end of the show Fran said "see you soon!" and I hope he meant it. Travis is hands down the best live band I've ever seen and they're as fresh now as they were 13 years ago when I first heard them. I spoke with a few people who weren't that familiar with them and they loved the concert, too.
As always, thanks to the guys, their families and their crew for all the work and time they take to share their music with us.
