I live in Singapore.
Stay: Security, effiency, cleanliness, good friends, no political conflict
Leave: Academic stress, competitveness, and IT'S TOO FULL OF BUILDINGS. Well, it also has a lot of trees, but...the buildings give off a very corporate, structured feel; it doesn't feel vibrant and creative. |

Stay: high quality infrastructure (heating, water pressure, public transport to name a few) and safety, on a personal level family and language
Leave: climate, bloody people*
* That's the problem everywhere, there's always something about the locals to get on your nerves once you've lived somewhere for a while. |

Ah, see... I DID leave and now I am more than ready to go back!
Reasons to leave in the first place: I couldn't pass up the opportunity to live in England and explore Europe on the weekends. It's much more economical to travel once you're already IN Europe than going all the way from the US.
Reasons why I'm more than ready to go back: Family and Familiarity. I freaking miss CHICAGO!!!! |
