Don't complain if he is late for dinner or stays out all night?!?! WTF
<translated into current era as, scream and shout at him, throw his dinner in the bin (or at him) then give him the silent treatment until he comes crawling....if he stays out all night then you are in your right to change the locks....see the selfish bastard try and get in now!!! lol> |

Put a ribbon in my hair and be a little gay? I didn't realize how much I've been slacking.
Seriously, though. Some of that is not bad advice, it's just presented in an outdated way. And it can go both ways, for the husband and the wife. Who wants to come home to a complaining slob in sweat pants, screaming, sticky children and a house that looks like a tornado swept through? It makes the single office co-worker a bit tempting. (Of course, if both partners are working, it's a different structure to the household.)
Here's the best marriage advice I was ever given:
Marriage is not 50/50. It's 60/40, and YOU have to give the 60%.
(I found out later the same person gave the same advice to my husband.) Genius.

I think one point was visionary, and light years ahead of it's time. Very progressive for an article of that era. The point is - "Be a little gay". I can't believe they were suggesting hot lesbian threesome action back in the 50's. I know that would make me a happy husband! |

I was wondering how long it would take, and who would make such a comment. Congratulations Moray.
It is a little disturbing considering the little adorable avatar beside your comment. |

aaaargh.
I mean, some of this is really sad: "Be happy to see him".
Hello? |
