I cant get Chinese Blues out of my head.
Been singing it (in my head!) all day at work.
So which song from Ode To J Smith have you got stuck in your head at the moment?

By the way, my favourite lyric from ode is:-
I watch the seagull
Swooping past the steeple
Crying for his dinner as he shits on the sinners.

From Long way Down.

Chinese Blues and the Mama! bit of LWD mainly though I've had all of them except Something Anything at one point or another.

The 'Don't stop when you really want to let it go' part from Quite Free, though I've had all of them in my head at some point for the past three days lol.

After the gig at Brighton in February I had Get Up stuck in my head for what seemed like forever. The songs from this album are great (but that goes without saying :-D).

Before You Were Young was stuck in my head until I figured out how to play it on the piano. Sadly, I have no gong voice on my piano, so I'm replicating it with the lid of the breadbin and an ice cream scoop lol.

So many great songs!!

Loads, but mainly

1. Chinese Blues

you're designed to fall about on the day the warranty ends
and you try, but you just can't stop
running round in circles

etc. I love that first line. CB is quickly becoming my absolute fave.

2. Quite Free
3. Before You Were Young
4. the middle 8 bit from Song to Self that isn't on the album

I had no direction
tonight there's no deception
no lies, no reflection...

which IMO is easily the best bit of the song.

Over the past 6 months its been Long Way Down but now we have the album, it isn't as good as what i'd hoped. Or maybe the other songs are even better than i'd hoped... :) Anyway, it's all of them at the moment. :)

I've just got Travis in my head every waking minute these past few days. I decided before listening to Ode, I would listen from Good Feeling right the way through.

I've been listening to Ode all day in work on my MP3 player and can't get enough. Friends is the one that keeps popping up in my head at the moment. Love it.

I love Chinese Blues too!

But 'Quite Free' is becoming my fave! Great bits of catchy guitar work and lyrics! Hope they get it out as a single (please Fran!)

I love the lyrics on Quite Free, and the whole tone. It's so warm and friendly, very fitting for the guys. So catchy too.

'Cos I like you'

Chinese Blues & Quite Free are 1 and 2, but I forgot Friends! That's up there too. Reckon I listened to Before You Were Young too much in the first 2 or 3 days. That's having a lull at the moment.

So pleased that Quite Free is becoming a favourite. I thought it would. I always said it sounded amazing. And that was live but i could tell it sounded great. It sounds even better than i thought it would. :)

In the days Before You Were Young
We used to sit in the morning sun
We used to turn the radio on
What happened?

That has been stuck in my head since February!
