My sweet beloved cat that I have had for 17 years hasn't eaten or had any water for three days now. He's just lying in my bed all day, so later today I'm going to the vets to put him to sleep. I feel totally devastated, don't know if I'll be able to handle this at all...I will never have any more pets. that's for sure!
Just had to write it down somewhere... |

I understand how you feel, my deepest sympathies, Alex.
Already left you a message on FB but after reading your post here, I had to tell you something... Please, don't say you won't have any more pets! It sucks right now but not to have one of those furry friends around ever again...imagine the last 17 years without him, I bet it's impossible!
I'd never be able to give up all the good times I may share with my pets just beacause of the pain it will cause me once they're gone...
I know I can't say anything that will make you feel better, only that time heals all wounds... or so they say :( |

So sorry for you, Alex.
Have a parent or a good friend go with you to the vet, so you won't have to drive home. |

Oh, I know what it's like to be in this situation... I'm sorry. But like Ric said, it's better than letting him suffer.

I'm sorry Alex. That's a tough decision to make but it is a loving one. When I was 19 we had to put a cat down that my parents got when I was 1. I literally had no memories of life without him so I know what it means to have a cat with you most of your life.
No rush but I do hope sometime you'll open your heart to another pet. The pain is tough but think of all the joy you would have missed if you hadn't had your cat. |

He's gone now....:( It was even harder than I thought it'd be. Just when he was about to pass away, I whispered in his ear that I loved him and then he started purring... He looked so beautiful and peaceful as he was lying there, I'll miss him forever <3
Thanks for all your kind words and support, it means a lot in times like this! |

Get him stuffed and carry him around. His soul still lives. |
