Yeah! If I have to be honest I would like a more rock sound but I’m looking forward to hear whatever will pop out from their brains π

My favorite Travis album cover is 12 Memories together with 10 songs

My all time favorite album cover is Alladin Sane by David Bowie. I think it’s a perfect shot by Brian Duffy that portrays what Bowie felt like at the time, representing the “split down the middle” personality of the Aladdin Sane character and reflecting Bowie’s split feelings regarding the US tour and his newfound The make up is so vibrant and perfect that seems a post production work. The drop of water on his chest has always moved me, it seems like the only earthly thing in that shot.
I could spend hours just watching at itBabyGrace
Yes, I appreciate when directors tackle themes using new ideas.
I’ve always liked horror/thriller movies and books because they address our deepest fears.
The last one I’ve seen is “Speak no evil” by Christian Tafdrup, that is way better than the american remake.
The movie serves as a mirror to a numb and helpless society, incapable of reacting to horror, toxic masculinity, submissiveness of fathers unable to express healthy aggression to protect their families so they endure harassment for not breaking the rules of civil coexistence.Manipulation and gaslighting are also present in the plot. Not a lighthearted one I know πBabyGrace
I’ve read that the underlying theme Is about men wanting to crontol women (let me say it happens too often unfortunately), consent and the difficulty of accepting rejection. If so it should be worth watching. Thanks for the suggestion!

There are quite a lot that deserve more recognition.
I’d say Travis are excellent at playing covers : the weight, all the young dudes, the urge for going are wow!
Albums: Coming around, Butterflies, Big Chair, I love you Anyways, Battleships, Valentine, Good day to die and many others that I can’t remember at the moment
A special place in my heart :
SOME SAD SONG (so beautiful it hurts)
THE RIVER
LIFE AND SOUL OF THE PARTY
BOXES
PAPERCLIPS ( I’ve always thought this one as a painful message to Fran’s dad but I may be wrong)BabyGrace
@Fran have you ever been to one of their concerts? I’ve been to some and they’re breathtaking, such a raw yet intelligent chaos!
Trent Reznor has a talent for building songs with complex structures without losing sight of quality. Not to mention the lyrics… have you listened to any of their albums?BabyGrace
Hi @Fran and @Neil!
The machinist is one of the most dark thriller I’ve ever seen but it’s worth seeing.
Another film from a few years ago that is beautiful is THIS MUST BE THE PLACE by Sorrentino starring Sean Penn and It’s stuck in my mind ever since. It’s a film that deals with a lot of emotions. It explores how everyone deals with a significant loss, the success that can lead to isolation, revenge as redemption, and the searching for meaning in a disconnected world.
SPOTLIGHT by Tom McCarthy also is a very good movie even if punches you in the stomach
Cheers xx

Hi @Neil
Thanks for replying, you’re so nice! I haven’t heard of the homage about Wild Nights, I’ll definitely look into it. I’ve read a couple of Asimov’s books and none of Fleming’s , well at least I’ve seen all the classic Bond movies with Sean Connery when I was about 10 π
Hope the other guys will reply too , I’m curious to know!
