I had to sack a guy today, been with the vessel for four years but as part of a "cost cutting" exercise I got to tell him, You won't be joining us this season. Poor guy is a Filipino, and I just fucked up his life.
Knee high to a grasshopper that's how tall I stand today.
Fucking Dubz.

I am sure that was really hard. I would feel terrible too. It's awful when you have to be the bearer of bad news and it's not even really your decision.
Maybe you can keep your ears open for something else for him. |

Aww, Dubz, that guy (my peep!) couldn't be any luckier to have such news come from a kind-hearted person like you. Downsizing is a fact of working life nowadays. It's up to that guy now to look forward and move on.
As I've learned from the dotcom world-- when one door shuts, another one opens :-) |

och Dubz I can imagine that's not a pleasant experience. When I first read your post I thought you were sacked! Glad it wasn't the case all the same. |
