I have no love for the Leo. I dont hate him, but I really dont see the appeal.
I think Annie Anne loves him though, dont you?

I do love him. I've also loved him since Growing Pains.

And I think he is a fantastic actor. He blew me away in The Departed.

I do agree that it is ambiguous and you could choose to believe that she was dreaming.

But I think she died and he made it ambiguous so it would end on a high note.

Though I think being welcomed into heaven by someone who loved you enough to sacrifice themselves is pretty great.

Don't feel bad-I didn't know she died in the end until my boyfriend told me. I thought she was sleeping too.

I didn't remember Titanic's ending until I read it here, but I think that when I remembered, I used to think she had died :oP

It's meant to be a happy ending that she dies though, cos she finally got to tell her story and is now at peace with her true love.

Hahaha, I agree!
Like Kristy said, why didn't she share the piece of wood with him??? Selfish, selfish Kate Winslet.

Don't badmouth Kate Winslet!!! She's my hero!

The piece of wood wouln't have held both of them and what she did was very brave, she kept on living without him because that's what he wanted!

He tried to get on the piece of wood, but when he did the balance was thrown off and the wood flipped over and Rose fell back into the water. That's why she stayed on it alone.

Since the first time I saw the movie (back in 1997) I have always thought she dies. Never came to my mind that she could be just sleeping. That's a sweeter and nicer ending, I'll be thinking of it next time I watch it on the telly :o).

In my opinion it's clear she died because she got back to the Titanic then and was there with all the people who died when the Titanic sank, and they all applauded because she finally returned to join them in death... That's just the way I saw it all those years... ;-)
