Canadian friend, we DO have a cereal that's very similar to Shreddies in the states. It's called Shredded Wheat:

bleck! Shredded wheat is not the same! Shredded wheat tastes like hay and is in fact the same texture.
Im bringing Shreddies to the ABC. Although Nikki, you dont like cereal do you?
Oh, wiki tells me that shreddies are only avaliable in Canada, the UK, Ireland and New Zealand. Poor rest of the world.
Im going to go get myself a bowl (topped with milk from a bag)...and maybe a cuppa |

Yes, I figured the Shreddies looked more dense than the Chex....they actually reminded me of something else and I thought it was Chex at the time but since I've slept on it...
I'm sure it's still not the same but they seem to more closely resemble Life Cereal:

hmm, they look closer to Life. We have Life here, but ive never had it so I cant say either way. Although they say "lightly sweetened" so maybe they are like a sweetened version.
I got to the fridge any also had crumpets, so I had to make a tough decision. But stuck with my Shreddies. |

We have something like those Life ones, by Quaker, so it's probably the same thing, but with a different name. I'm not a big fan of those.
My favourite cereal of all time:
Here they come in a different box and with the name in spanish (although "quadritos" doesn't mean anything, it should be "cuadraditos" or "cuadritos", but I think they left the q because it looks cool or something like that):

That is so sad, I hate when countries miss out on things. Although, i've never been much of a fan of Shreddies, Frosted Shreddies are kinda nice, in an extremely sugary way. |
