Hey all, I just wanted to clarify what the EXTENDED version means.
Before the album was released, we cut a section out of Song To Self and added a second verse instead. In the ETXTENDED version we have added the section we took out, back in.
The section is called a middle 8. It's a technical name for a section in a song that is neither the verse, nor the bridge or the chorus.
The original arrangement of Song To Self was
INTRO-VERSE-CHORUS-MIDDLE 8-CHORUS-INSTRUMENTAL-CHORUS-OUTRO
the version isn the album is
INTRO-VERSE-CHORUS-VERSE 2-CHORUS-INSTRUMENTAL-CHORUS-OUTRO
the EXTENDED VERSION will be
INTRO-VERSE-CHORUS-VERSE 2-CHORUS-MIDDLE 8-CHORUS-INSTRUMENTAL-CHORUS-OUTRO

| I was just thinking, isn't this only on vinyl? I hope we get a good recording of this as mp3 because i'm going to love this version!!! In my little opinion, this is the version the song should always have been, even if it is nearly 5 minutes long or whatever. A great song suddenly becomes a really great song. :) |

I'm going to try to cut together my own version from the two we already have. I'll let you know whether it's good idea. |

wasn't this version already released? Isn't that the one that's 3.56 minutes long? Starting with: "I have no direction, tonight is no..." The one on the album is 3.46 minutes long...or did u guys released yet another one?
Besides: Went to 6 CD/Music shops in Zurich and towns around: Can't find any singles from Travis anymore (gotta by them from London, they keep saying) and: No one does seem to sell venyl anymore: Any idea how to get those (without ordering it from the UK?)...
Still missing some B-sides...and of course the song "12th memory" |
