As late as 2009? I feel like you’ve been around a lot longer than that… Were you not at TBWNN shows?
I don’t think any of my equipment is particularly ‘high end’ but it suits me fine. I’m certainly not an audiophile, but I enjoy listening to music as an activity in and of itself and giving it my full attention, rather than listening to it whilst I’m doing something else (although I do that too!) I’m not sure why, but I’ve always loved Sony equipment. My turntable, amp, speakers and CD player in my music room are all Sony, as are my bluetooth/noise cancelling headphones, as well as the hi-fi in my living room. Oh, and a portable bluetooth speaker for different rooms in the house, or in the garden – also Sony.
I don’t tend to stream music. My Amazon Music has largely been taken over by my wife. I still use iTunes 12 on my laptop as my main music library, and I prefer buying the music rather than streaming it. Love it when an LP comes with a download code! If not, I’ll buy the digital album and transfer it onto my devices (phone and tablet) for listening through my hi-fi, headphones or bluetooth speakers.
Irish Tea, preferably Nambarrie. As much as I love a good beer, I’d take tea over any drink any day.
Don’t forget Gladly The Cross-Eyed Bear – affectionately known as “Gladly”. A big feature of Travis shows in Glasgow. He also worked at my uni so I bumped into him a lot. Sadly missed.

I’ve met them more times than I can remember. My favourite time however was the wee premiere for the Everything At Once film at the Grosvenor Cinema in Glasgow, and drinking with them, their families and other fans afterwards til the wee small hours.
A selfie of my wife and me from that night is one of my favourite photos of us – and even made it onto the ‘Thank You’ cover of Good Feeling when they reissued it for National Album Day.
No… but I often get that horrible sudden fright, just as you’re drifting off, that makes you jump out your skin – and the start of your dream is you falling off a kerb, falling off a chair bsckwards, falling off your bike, etc
I opted to work all 3 matches so Scottish people get a chance to watch it. Don’t think I’ve watched a World Cup since 2014 so doubt I’ll watch this one either.

So true. Production is unreal.
More Than Us was played at my school disco in 1998. It was “the slow dance” (we were 12, so no one was slow dancing!) and I was blown away by it, the way it built into that wonderful crescendo was unlike anything I’d ever heard before. I loved it, and rushed up to ask the DJ what it was. He wrote it down for me. I held onto it and ordered the CD single at HMV that weekend.
A year later, The Man Who came out and, well… the rest is history!

I got married in 2019, and we’d invited Glen to sing ‘Winning Streak’ at our wedding. Unfortunately (for us) he was supporting Neil Young in Killarney that day – so as a wedding gift he said he’d guest list us for one of his shows instead. In the midst of working through the pandemic, he wrote to us (he knew we were Nurses, and he said he was worried about us) which was a real comfort at a difficult time.
Finally, towards the end of all the lockdowns and restrictions, a show in Belfast was announced. Our first gig in a world we weren’t sure would ever allow concerts again. We were guest list, and it was just Glen, his guitar, and his voice. It was like watching a master at work. It was a breath of fresh air in a world that had quite literally struggled to breath for 2 years. It was incredibly special.
A few years ago on Discogs there was a seller who had 3 copies for sale, all water damaged, and they were still extortionate. I tried to barter down but they weren’t for having it.
Eventually managed to find a copy for £40 on eBay in 2018, from a seller near the bonnie bonnie banks. I got lucky!
