| This is a very good question! Has Fran ever explained that lyric? I'm trying to remember if he mentioned it on that podcast about The Man Who. Hmmm...I forget. I wonder if he actually wrote it about a time he lied when we was 17, or if it just rhymed. :) |

I remember reading something about he would never tell what it was he lied about-but then again I probably read that on the internet too. |

Hahaha, this reminds me of my backpacker vacations last year. I went to this very small town called Amaicha, and there was a huge sign that said some facts about the town, and one of them was that Amaicha has "360 sunny days a year". Of course, the two days I stayed there were 2 of its 5 rainy days. It rained so hard that our tent flooded in the middle of the night... My friend and I were all curled up in the middle of it trying not to get wet hahaha. I had a good time though :oP.

Yeah, I think he's said that whatever he lied about was just a minor thing, but that if he told you he'd have to kill you, something like that. I've actually also read that it doesn't mean anything, and that Fran just wrote it because it rhymed. But there are probably a lot of other explanations out there on the internet. |

XFM Podcast talks about this song at around 22 minutes and also talks about the "Why does it always rain on you/ is it because I picked you up in '92?"
That was a good change. Doesn't address his "lie" though.
I forgot how interesting this podcast was.
