Kings of Leon - Because of the Times
Amy MAcDOnald - This is the LIfe
Bloc Party - Weekend in the City
Bright Eyes - Casadega
Foo Fighters - Echoes etc
The Enemy - Live & Die
Beirut - Flying Club Cup
Are the standouts for me this year, other than the obvious. Surprised to see the Arcade Fire rate so highly, I was distinctly underwhelmed by Neon Bible |

other than "era vulgaris" QOTSA and "tbwnn" Travis, nothing stands out although i really haven't bought much this year and most have been digital downloads. i slept on the radiohead release although i listened online and i'm happily waiting for the actual cd release. better quality blah blah blah. i'm thinking i'll eventually buy bruce springsteen's new one and head to the listening station to see what else appeals to me. time to go to the record shop swhat i think. |

I don't tend to buy all that many albums, and most of the ones I got this year have been older ones (I don't think I can get away with nominating Abbey Road for example). But In Rainbows is amazing - I'd put that at number 1. And KT Tunstall deserves a mention too. |

There was a poll on NPR to vote for the best albums... I wonder if it's still up... *goes to look*
Nope, the poll's over, but here are the results from the listener's votes
All Songs Considered's best of 2007, listener's pick
On the voting ballot I do recall seeing TBWNN, but it looks like it didn't make the cut. I guess they featured it because of the concert series with Travis @ the 9:30 club. |

Definately agree on Amy Mac's album. It seems to be getting a lot of play in our house and not only by me (hubby wants to see her live) |

I dislike MIA! Yay! I finally get the be a H8ter. Hehehe ;)
Kidding, Actually I kinda like that song with the guns and the cash registers, but not so much the other one's I've heard.
What I really hated this year is Animal Collective.
There are still lots of albums this year that I want to hear. My short list doesn't even begin to cover all the ones I purchased. I just listed the ones I enjoyed the most and got the most spins.
I do like that Bloc Party Album, but I mostly just listen to it up to Uniform + I still remember. That's only just over half, so I didn't count it. |

Easy peasy, but in no order:
TBWNN
Beyond the Neighbourhood, Athlete
Songs for the Road, David Ford (and thank you for last night, you were magical)
Man on the Roof, Stephen Fretwell

Hmmm I have been trying to think of one, but most of the albums I have bought this year are ollddd. I think I've been a bit disappointed by new music, but very pleased with all the old stuff I've got. |
