my heart could not be more full of Canadian pride. That slam poet was amazing.
teamwork to light the flame. Although I would have thought there would have been more of a Terry Fox presence, who is a major Canadian hero.
Seriously, I was on the verge of tears 3 times before the ceremony even started. Amazing vingettes and things before they started. |

Death at the Winter Olympics
These things are bound to happen when you slide down a hill at 90mph on basically a tea-tray.

Man, I wish I was there! It seems like every other person i know is there, even my cousin is volunteering!
Although, it was so stressful when that last pillar thing didn't go up for the Olympic flame! That was nerve racking, Gretzky was sweeeating! lol.
Also, I just heard that the Men's downhill has been postponed because of the warm weather, hopefully it gets more manageable soon. |

Sorry if this offends you, but I think everyone has the right to support their country. |

Would it bother you if it was ?
Showing country spirit during the Olympics is a fairly standard thing. |

Considering Slovakia beat Bulgaria 82-0 in qualifying. |

I've been watching everything that Sweden has participated in so far, so yeah I'm watching the woman's hockey too =) I hope our ladies can reach the final, but I guess we're pretty much screwed if we meat Canada or USA in the semi-finals. |

then I guess you dont remember Sweden beating the US in the semi's in 2006?
I was stuck in an airport, major delays due to a snow storm, making people text me score updates during that game.
That was a long ass day. Ended up taking an 8 hour bus trip from Ottawa to home. |

this is so random, but I just saw THIS on TV (a reporter had bought it for his kid, along with other merchandise stuff) and I just think this is SOOOOO cute!!
sigh. we NEVER get great merchandise over here... this has got to change if Munich (*knocks on wood*) hosts the Olympic Winter Games 2018. Watching the opening ceremony, I also thought: OMG if Munich really gets to host the games after next, then:
a) we need a new stadium (the olympic stadium from 1972 is great architecture-wise, but way too old comfort-wise ;P)
b) we need some better ideas than letting some people dance a "Schuhplattler". Sigh. That Canadian ceremony was ace! |

That's cute, Lilly!
Can somebody tell me what this is?
It reminds me of a toddler with a thick winter overall on. |
