I noticed this weekend there is a robin's nest in a bush in the front yard. It was hard for me to get a good shot since it's slightly above my head and the nervous mother robin was giving me the evil eye from a few feet away. Also, I didn't want to be too intrusive. I count 3 beaks. This picture is from Monday. I'm going to try to get a picture every couple of days.

Aww how cute! I remember when we had a blackbird nest in the back garden- so sweet! Make sure you keep posting the pictures, a daily dose of cuteness is always good :-) |

I decided to grab the pool ladder to get a better picture. Walked right by the father robin with the ladder in my hand. He was asleep in the back yard and never woke up. Mother robin was sitting on the nest and she flew away as soon as she saw me. So much for protection. (I kept my distance from babies and mother, used the zoom.)
HUNGRY!

Fantastic!
We have a maple tree outside our kitchen window and in our level (3rd floor) there is a good place for a nest. One year there were fieldfare, but there was a sticky end, we suspect squirrel or crows. Two years ago it was wood pidgeon, and it worked out fine. This year the spot wasn't taken, but somebody (a woodpidgeon?) cleaned up the remains of the old nest, so maybe there's some hope for next spring.
Now we can only see glimpses of a seagull nest on the rooftop of the neighbouring building. |

I'm exactly like that too! My husband knows it's coming whenever we drive by any baby animal; I'm always like "BABIES!!" Or when we were in England and Ireland I would yell out "Sheepies!" cuz they are cute and you hardly ever see them in the States. |

I point out the (happy) cows whenever I see them in the hills :D
Anyways, cute birdies! Keep us updated! :D |
