It's pancake Tuesday tomorrow!
What'll be in yours?
I'm going traditional...sugar and lemon.

I ate too many chocolate muffins today, think I might start Lent a day early. Although, I have been meaning to try out a recipe I found for American style blueberry pancakes... I only like American style, the really flat ones taste kinda pointless to me. |

I must've told you this before, we don't eat pancakes today. Here it's traditional to eat this:
It's a "laskiaispulla", a sweet bun with marzipan (or jam) and whipped cream.
In my family we have had pancake days on Shrove tuesday, but this year we're doing it in the Finnish style. |

Dee is giving up alcohol and shopping for Lent. So Pancake Tuesday for us may consist of a mini "blow out" before 40 days of abstinance.

In Munich area it's Krapfen, kind of donuts. |

in Switzerlan they eat little "Fasnachtchüächli"
it's hard, sugared and it crumbs like hell :) But it's good....with a hot chocolate (remeber you're in Switzerland - you need chocolate ....for everything)

That looks interesting, you'll have to teach me how to pronounce it Nora! :D
Enjoy your laskiaispulla(s) Mili! |

That looks suspiciously like Krapfen! Central European origin for both, of course! |

It's Mardi Gras and so we have Bugnes today (sorry, the techy-phobe in me can't put up pics).
Pancake day is much earlier in the month! Let's face it, it's just another excuse to stuff ourselves with loads of sugar! |
