Keane, number 1! Ridiculous. I like Keane but that was a very disappointing album. My favourites are Travis, Elbow, Duffy, Coldplay and there's been some other good ones too like Snow Patrol and Oasis etc.

Keane number 1??? That`s a joke, a shit!

The quality of music has very little to do with it. Lack of promotion is a big factor.

Totally agree ;)

Would be interesting to know what the Band really think of this.

Here's a little interview with Fran the week of Ode's release. You can see the excitement in his eyes of knowing that J. Smith got to number 1 in the indie chart and so I think he must be a bit disappointed about Ode's sales. On the other hand, "The album's awesome!" and that's why loads of people voted for it. :D So long as they're filling the live shows up and still enjoying those to the maximum I guess it's less important to have gazillions of fans, just a few high-quality ones ;)

The album is great and that's the important thing but it's still disappointing with the sales. But, it's obvious why. I don't know if the band chose to do very little promotion or if things didn't work out well or if it's too expensive. I have no idea and I also know little about how you go about getting on Jools Holland etc but that's the reason why. When they promote something, it charts well. When they don't, it doesn't.

True. (And I agree with your other post as well, but I'm too lazy to quote twice). That's why I think 28 is a great spot.

Many people listen to this kind of music, but only some people understand what they are listening to...
When people will understand this music, Travis will be number 1.

And the killers is no 25?!How can Radiohead be at no 24!
And Duffy is NO 18????!
AND King of Leon's worst album since their first incredible youth and young manhood is at NO 5,WHATTT?!!!!!
I like Keane but they can't be no 1....

Worst of all Ode to J Smith at no 28!

Screw Q magazine..The most inaccurate poll I've seen this year!!

Ode is still my number 1=DDDDD

Yeah you're right :S
Wtf with that?
Seems like they hate Travis...

Travis doesn't appear much on Q magazine i guess and the readers just don't really appreciate Travis as much as KOL or Keane.Who cares.

As long as we do=D

Yeah but
Travis has to be at the top!

Ode at 28?!?!?!?!?! Mmmmmm, I don't agree with that! Should be in the top 10
and....
Radiohead at Number 24?!?!?!?! Has the world gone mad?

I'm pleased with Accelerate being at number 10 tho, at least they got one album right! Oh and the Coldplay album aswell that deserves to be in the top 10. The new Keane album is a great album but it's not their best.

Also why does everyone buzz off Duffy?!?! She's average!!! Just a crap copy of Dusty.
