I'm with Dubz. There is no way I could choose a favorite Beatles song. It's like asking me to choose my favorite Travis song. There are just too many that I love!

I'll give it a go at the moment favourites are...
from Revolver:- Taxman, I'm Only Sleeping
from Rubber Soul:- Norwegian Wood, Nowhere Man, Michele, In My Life
from Abbey Road:- Because, Come Together, Maxwell's Silver Hammer, Something.
from White Album:- Dear Prudence, Bungalow Bill, Happiness is a Warm Gun, Revolution, Blackbird, Helter Skelter, Everbody's Got Something to Hide Except for Me and My Monkey
from Yellow Submarine:- Only a Northern Song, Hey Bulldog, All Together Now, It's All Too Much
also:- Ballad of John and Yoko
Nah it's no good I've left too much out and you did ask for a (singular) favourite...

Can't just chose one, maybe we should do a Beatles song showdown! But that would take for ever :P
Here's some of my personal favourites:
Lady Madonna
Your Mother Should Know
Hey Jude
With A Little Help From My Friends
Blackbird
The Long And Winding Road
I Want To Hold Your Hand
Come Together
Octupus Garden
Drive My Car
That's a few ;) |

I'm going to try it per album:
A Hard Days Night: Tell Me Why
Abbey Road: Here Comes the Sun
Beatles for Sale: I'll follow the Sun
Help!: I've Just Seen a Face
Let it Be: Across the Universe
Magical Mystery Tour: Penny Lane
Please Please Me: Twist & Shout
Revolver: Here, There & Everywhere
Rubber Soul: In My Life
Sgt. Peppers: She's Leaving Home
White Album (Disc 1): While My Guitar Gently Weeps
White Album (Disc 2): Long, Long, Long
With the Beatles: All My Loving
Past Masters 1 (i.e. not an album track): I'm Down
Past Masters 2 (i.e. not an album track): Hey jude
Who am I kidding though. In the process of picking those, I heard a bunch of other tunes, and I can't decide which. e.g. off Revolver, how could I forget 'For No-One' or 'And My Bird Will Sing'.
I can't even pick my favourite album - let alone track - it's probably between "Rubber Soul" and "Abbey Road". I don't know though.
Ah I just love em so much.
Perhaps i'll just go all Alan Partridge and say my favourite album is "Best of the Beatles" |

Everytime I think ive come up with an answer, or atleast narrowed it down to a couple, I think of more.
And it is hard to quantify "greatest." Is Twist and Shout a great song as compared to many epics? Maybe not, but it's hard to be sad listening to it and that in and of itself makes it great.
But...im one of those no answer people. |

Actually that "Love" album with the alternative mixes on it is very good too.
