It's a measure of how much we've changed. Marriage is now viewed as a partnership, not hero worship.
Back then, women rarely went out to work, especially after having children. But even if a mum isn't working in the earning sense, it's way too much to ask to clean up the house, and the kids and have dinner ready and a gay smile painted on :) |
