Hmm yes ..arse licking a plenty... I am not happy about the big deal being made of his race. It is after all just one man , who is actually very up against it ;entering a mess bigger than anybodys wildest imaginings. I hope that change is not just for change sake and that the different approach is well thought through.
The excitement is more about the dream, the reality a lot more sobering.

The thing is he is NOT a traditional slimeball politician. He is not from an affluent white family. He grew up with a single mom. HE paid his way through undergrad and law school. He graduated from Harvard and instead of joining some big law firm he worked as a civil rights attorney. He doesn't own 7 houses.
I agree that his race should not be an issue, but given the history of the United States it IS a big deal. And, I'm sorry if you can't see that and are annoyed with others recognizing this huge milestone, but frankly I think we owe it to anyone who has worked for civil rights now or in the past to honor their achievements. They poured their blood, sweat, and tears into making sure their children lived in a better world and would be proud of how far we have come. |

He grew up with a single mom (oh so he came from a broken home), He gtaduated from Harvard (He's an Ivy Leaguer), instead of joining some big law firm he worked as a civil rights attorney (unemployed by the big firms, he choose power over money), He doesn't own 7 houses (yet, how many does he have 5, 6??).
This is just me having a go at this, imagine what a proffessional spin doctor would do to it. You can spin pretty much anything to suit your own needs.
Or perhaps it's all true and he truely is an amazingly wonderfully fantastic man...
