ouch! Maybe the guy wanted to change his eye colour back lol.
Joking aside, there's some good ideas here. I would recommend making ornaments, that seems easy. |

Helen!!!! So what are you doing for Xmas? Any ideas yet? Think of getting my kids to make a massive xmas tree and decorate it so it is part of a display. Just a big tree shape cut out of card painted and then glittered, decorated and such. Also beeded and sequin stars made with popscile sticks.
I'm a bit brain dead now to be honest. lol
Going craft shopping with my boss next tuesday....yippee!!!!!!! lol |

I have made both book marks and magnets with kids I've worked with.
I've just used heavy duty paper, and let them decorate however they want. For a book mark, I punch a hole in the top and put some ribbon through.
For magnets, I've cut the paper in intesting shapes and, again, let them decorate any way they want. Then slapped a magnate on the back and called it done.
I've also had kids make dream-catchers. You'll need strong thread, a metal ring of any size, some thicker ribbon, medium size beads, and feathers. They've liked to hear about what dreamcathers are, so it's interesting for them.
That's all I've got for now. |

If you get some christmas serviettes with say xmas trees on for example and open them up you can cut out the xmas trees or whatever there is on them then you can put som pva glue on a cream church candle then put the cutout from the serviette onto the candle then pva over the top to seal allow to dry and hey presto a decorated candle.
There's allways edible ginger tree decorations eg stars or you can dip pine cones in glitter and attatch a loop for a tree decoration? How old are the kids in question?

Hey Wend, how are the crafts coming? I've managed to find different activity packs online that i'm going to give out to the children that come in my library. I'm also considering making them a christmas card each. If you want to have a look at the activity pack and some colouring in sheets that i've saved just PM your email address and i'll send them from work on thursday (day off tommorrow, yeyy)
Also, here are a couple of photos from Halloween. They photos don't make it look as good as it was and you must bear in mind that my library is extremely tiny so i couldn't do too much! Christmas is going to be loads better though.

Oh, you know how you could make those?
Mix equal parts applesauce and cinnamon to form a dough, press or roll them flat (about 1/4"), poke a hole in the top with a straw if you want to hang them, then put them on some wax paper to dry. It takes a few days, I think. Then you can decorate them with puffy paint instead of frosting. You have a gingerbread man that will last for years and they smell deeeelicious. (You can get cheap cinnamon at the dollar stores here. I don't know if that is the case everywhere.) |

I forgot the "cut out with a cookie cutter" part! But I'm sure you understand what I mean. |

this might be a "German thing", but when I was in primary school we used to make straw stars before Christmas (to hang them on our Christmas-trees or put them on Christmas cards).
they might be old-fashioned but I like them ;)
(no idea if they're a typically German tradition?)
