I just saw this. I started the Flat Travis Project (Turtleneck/Kayte). The idea came from the book Flat Stanley. We had a “flat” version of the band that was mailed from country to country and each boardie took Travis on adventures in their area and made a video. It was just a fun way to connect with each other and see lots of different parts of the world. I was looking at my Facebook memories today and the Flat Travis Project ended 14 years ago today! I put them into a book along with a map and all the accessories they collected along the way and gave it to Fran at a gig in Boston. Since Nikki and I live near each other we collaborated on our video. Flat Travis in Detroit! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_0VR8aUWSA
There are still lots of videos up on YouTube! Maybe I’ll make a separate post and link all the ones I can find so we’ll have them all together.

It was 2009, I was in the car listening to a radio station from Canada (93.9 The River. I live in the US, but close enough to the border to get Windsor radio). Why Does it Always Rain on Me came on and I just loved it. I thought it was a much, much older song for some reason. Like maybe from the 70s. A few days later, I heard it again. I went home and looked up the band on You Tube and I liked all their songs! I found my way to their website and clicked on the Message Board. It wouldn’t load. I tried again later. It wouldn’t load. So I tried one more time and just left the computer up for hours and hours. It finally loaded! I introduced myself and was “welcomed in” and the rest is history! When the next tour came around, I was there for it. Met the band, met lots of new friends who are now old friends!

It’s so cool that so many people kept their old names! I kept mine, too!

Ha ha! This is so fun. Great seeing all the old boardie names!
I wasn’t sure if I should remain Turtleneck or go by my real name, but the board decided for me. For those who got used to Facebook and don’t remember, it’s Kayte!
