Yesterday was my son Jack's 10th birthday....the progression of presents during lunch:

1) baseball cards and album to hold them

2) Book on the Detroit Tigers' 2005 season

3) Tigers cap

4) Tigers shirt

and then...

5) Big huge box that only contained two tickets to the Tiger game last night....about 10 rows back from the Tiger dugout right on the third base line.

They lost, but it was 75 degrees out and there were fireworks after the game.

Yep...gotta have a Tigers cake as well...

That's cool. I didn't think many kids were still into baseball.

I haven't been in the new stadium.

Ahh, you know how to spoil a 10-year old! Lucky Jack!
My son is about 6 months older than yours, and his presents were all football related. HIs really into footie cards and stickers, and the walls of his roomare covered with pictures of footballers. Unfortunately taking him to a match was not an option.

WooT! Go Tigers!

Happy birthday to Jack! What an awesome gift, Moz! He looks like a huge fan! :O)

My birthday is Oct. 8, so the Red Wings' home opener either falls on or the day before or after my birthday every year. My dad would always try to get me tickets to that game and it was always the BEST present ever. :)

My youngest's birthday is on Oct-22....so I guess it will be a Red Wings game for him. I've raised the bar too high and now they all want to go to a professional sporting event for their birthdays.

You tell them, "You have to wait until you're ten. It's the special "10" birthday present."

When i was in highschool my friends got me tickets to a Sabres/Rangers game so that I could see Mark Messier, my favourite player ever, for the first time. I think that was my..17th birthday? Maybe 18th. It was awesome! No one buys me tickets anymore, gotta buy them myself, lol. I think I have spent a small fortune on tickets in the last 5 years.
