How true! Mainly, I think, because they genuinely weren't expecting it.

Plus they were out of their respective trees..... :)

I bought the new album because of this thread, and I do NOT regret it. I'm just listening to it for the first time and I'm already obsessed with it :o)

I'd go along with that. Very very good in a very very understated way.

A fantastic recent article for new and old Elbow fans :)

http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2008/sep/19/elbow.mercuryprize

Also, fairly hot off the press, album no 5 set for release early 2010.

And in other news, more immediate plans:

I love these guys! :)

Got the album and am liking it very much. :) £5.99 on itunes. Bargain. Although I read recently that music on CD's is better quality than downloading it so I kinda wish I got the CD now. Even though I probably wouldn't notice any real difference. :P

To the people who are listening to Seldom Seen Kid: How stunning is that opening track???

Also, don't forget their wonderful back catalogue. If you've got a few quid floating around:

Asleep at the Back
Cast of Thousands
Leaders of the Free World

Enjoy!

**Mini bump**

What are the chances? Slim I think, but I'll ask anyway:

Londoners: Anyone here going to the Elbow gig at the Camden Roundhouse tonight?

Tomorrow?

Monday?

Am heading off there in an hour or so. Having a break on Sunday, then back there on Monday.

Hope to see some of you there - it's going to be, hell, I don't know, indescribable!!! :)

I completely love Starlings too (that's the lead track? I haven't listened in order for ages...

The violence explodes inside me
when I meet your eyes
and I'm spinning and I'm diving
like a cloud of starlings
darling is this love?

yummy.

Bah! I'm jealous... I fully intended on going to the Roundhouse, but cash funds and work/uni schedules dictate I have no life for the next while. *sigh* Make sure to report back! If you can :P
