Most of the "cool" bands she liked were British. Bands none of us had ever heard of at the time. I also think she wanted to be anyone other than who she was. The whole teenage rebellion thing.
There were some cool bands in the 80's, but an awful lot of guff as well. |

Last I heard, she had completely recovered from this phase in life, has a husband and children and wears suits or dresses to work every day. Oh, and she no longer looks as though she has a black squirrel on her head. |
