its very difficult wen people dont understand it espically when u get a new job. im on a new diet that helps where u cant eat wheat and certain colorants in food, you also cant hav alcohol. almost like a wheat free allergy diet
Thats interesting , may I ask how the diet helps?
okay it helps ir keeps ur weight down, u dnt feel so stressed and anxious about things, u sleep better your less worried and u kan socialise better with people, the biggest problem 4 me is social skills mainly speaking face to face
Hmm thats what I thought , does that mean wheat can make you anxious . Its just that I think I have a wheat intolerance and wondered what it can do apart from make yuo hold water and feel yuk .... |

I learn about it in college because i'm training to be a primary school teacher.
there was a really interesting documentary on channel 4 a year or two ago about a family with children with different forms of autism and aspergers.
we were told to read "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time" too because the main character is a boy with aspergers and its written from his perspective |

yup cutting out wheat helps a great deal, as does e numbers and colourants in certain foods. the other thing about aspergers is it seems to affect only males

I may be wrong but I *think* that is called the Feingold diet, has been used for ADHD too which is on the low end of the same Autism spectrum.
I know several people with Aspergers, and have traits of it myself, but don't think I am. I have been diagnosed with ADHD, but Ritalin (well Concerta) only helped for a week or so, so I'm not medicated as of this moment. |

There was a character on Grange Hill with it a few years ago.
I've only come across severe autism in life thus far. |

I basically have pretty bad concentration, I tend to answer questions people ask me but not actually know that I've done it. This of course has caused problems in the past, with work and with my girlfriend. I've got all the symptoms for the 'Inattention' part, but my Hyperactive periods fluctuate a lot (almost Bi-Polar).
I used to also be very quick to react to any stimuli, often without thought of the consequences. Nowadays I've managed to tone that down. My confidence is quite low because of the amount of trouble I used to cause and the reactions of people to it. A lot of negativity.
One thing that effects me a lot though is sensitivity to certain noises (which is little known about at the moment). Pens clicking, gum chewing, thumping bass, they can all cause me to get very stressed out. This was quite a recent development, within the past few years. |
