Why did I buy her a bed?

I needed to share a nightly ritual experience. Each night before I go to bed I check on my children. Each night I find the following scene:

http://render1.snapfish.com/render2/is=Yup6aQQ%7C%3Dup6RKKt%3Axxr%3D0-qpDP-WtefRt7Pf7mrPfrj7t%3DzrRfDUX%3AeQaQxg%3Dr%3F87KR6xqpxQQoexlJJxal0xv8uOc5xQQQJa0llalnJnqpfVtB%3F*KUp7BHSHqqy7XH6gX0QQPn%7CRup6lQQ%7C/of=50,590,442

This my daughter's bed. Note the Hello Kitty sheets she picked out and the Dora the Explorer blanket that is so soft and snuggly. She is on the bottom of the bunk bed and it's very cozy. You'll note also that there is no child in this bed.

Instead, here is my daughter:

http://render1.snapfish.com/render2/is=Yup6aQQ%7C%3Dup6RKKt%3Axxr%3D0-qpDP-WtlfRt7Pf7mrPfrj7t%3DzrRfDUX%3AeQaQxg%3Dr%3F87KR6xqpxQQoexlJJxal0xv8uOc5xQQQJa0llao00aqpfVtB%3F*KUp7BHSHqqy7XH6gX0QQPl%7CRup6lQQ%7C/of=50,590,442

She would prefer to sleep on the ceramic tile. You'll see she has her pillow so it's not like she just rolled out of bed. She is choosing the cold hard tile over her bed. And yes, this is her sleeping attire. This night she needed to wear her "princess" dress to sleep. When I put her down she had on dress up shoes but apparently needed to change into socks and tennis shoes. I guess "just in case." And put on her hat to shield her face from the moon.

Tonight she is wearing a pull up, winter hat, mittens (you can see one in the empty bed), and different socks and tennis shoes. Who knows what she'll be wearing when I go put her in her bed at 11 tonight.

And since I'm already in crazed mom mode, here is my son. He lost his first tooth today! I guess I should have cleaned the cookie around his face first but whatever.

P.S. Lauren, I had to pay extra to get them for the whole weekend. I actually knocked the kid's tooth out so I could do the whole tooth fairy thing.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I loved the shout out at the end. Don't give her a hard time... I use to do that too.

What's her name again? I wanna say Katherine...

Can I call her Cate? Or better yet, Princess Cate.

You may. We call her Princess every day because she is the girliest little thing. I wasn't really that way so it's very amusing. Don't know where it's coming from.

Oh yes they will have he (boy, right?) will have his own brand of weird.

Yulia thanks for the compliment.

Just peeked in and she's still in bed. But within the next hour the big move to the floor happens.

She's the cutest thing!

Maybe she's just really hot with all those clothes on and the tile's just nice and cool. :D

After a night without hardly any sleep due to (my duaghters!) teething problems, your post made me laugh out loud. They are just too cute:) Thanks for brighting up a sleepy morning.

Awww, they are so CUTE!
Haha, Cate reminded me of my little cousin- he used to sleep on the hall floor, halfway to his parents' bedroom. Each night! lol

your kids are adorable-very jealous of your daughter's princess dress btw.

i have been found by my flatmates curled up in the hallway on occasion, sometimes you just want somewhere nice and cool and getting comfortable in a too soft bed just seems too much like work
