At the end of 1922, the last 20 or so seconds seamlessly fizzle into "Moonlight Sonata." Does anyone know if there's a story behind this? I wondered if this was rehearsed, or if it just was one of those studio moments that made it onto the final cut. It always catches my ears off guard when I'm listening to Travis and suddenly Beethoven creeps in. . .cool, no doubt, but unexpected just the same.

Beethoven was recording in the next studio, it must have picked it up at the end.

I love that the Moonlight Sonata can be heard at the end of "1922"! My guess is that it was probably a pretty random thing, but if you wanna over-think and read into things, like I often do with Travis songs, lol, I remember Fran saying "1922" is about his relationship with a girl who was 19-years-old and he was 22. Beethoven supposedly composed the Moonlight Sonata for a 17-year-old girl he was in love with. :O) I'm a dork...I know.

Maybe they just thought that the moonlight sonata suited the song... I think it does :)
