wish i cld post more videos but half of them were ruined by this crazy woman who kept singing (or shld i say screaming) at the top of her lungs on songs she knew!
not a single note was in tune and sadly fran's vocals were overlaid w her screaming on half the songs! |

| Hi Fran! It's amazing to watch your band play again after eight years when you were opening Coldplay's concert. I bought the tickets back in 2001 to watch you and (sorry, it's just my personal opinion) Coldplay wasn't able to bring the same level of energy afterwards to the Singapore Indoor Stadium like the precious hour that you guys did! Thanks for making this F1 so memorable for me. :-) Please come back soon! |

Hey, thank you for posting and sharing!! I had tears in my eyes because... 1. for regretting that you stood right beside this "singing wonder" and 2. from laughing how wrong she sang. How many fans have been at the gig? And do you have some pics from the meeting after the gig? Maybe Sue has...? And are there some pics of Travis at the F1 race?

Hello!
The videos look absolutely amazing; I'm sure the real thing was incredible! I live in Singapore too and was very sad that I couldn't get tickets for this :( (also my junior college year 1 exams are next week so I can't go out much :/)
Sue kept texting me about it though so it wasn't that bad, but I swear I nearly had a heart-attack when she called me at 3AM and said you'd all met and talked to the guys! So so exciting.
Anyway, thanks for the videos! I shall watch them and try to visualise myself there, in anticipation of Travis' return to Singapore :P |

Yeah travis are simply the best.
dont think anyone else'd be so nice and gracious after the gig.
personally, it was awesome for me cos i got to be front row (towards the left side, in front of dougie) and my friends and i had made a few signs... we had 3 boards so when held in order they read 'we're tony boney' and it was really cool when fran spotted it and motioned to dougie.. on the flip side we had the travis star and the modern travis logo.
also had one blank flip side so towards the end of the gig i decided to write on it 'we <3 Claus (sic)' and flashed it to him (cos he looked kinda bored and lonely ): )and YES I KNOW it's spelt wrongly okayy (on hindsight), it's my biggest regret. haha. i know it's not spelt with a K and it just slipped my mind at the moment cos i wrote it during the gig. darn.
but the look on claes' face when he saw it was priceless. he really brightened up... and when we met him afterwards (he came out a good half an hour before the rest, unescorted), he was really nice and friendly.
so my friends and i told him to keep the sign right and he was kinda reluctant - cracking jokes ["they wont let me bring this on the plane!" to which we replied 'but YOU are part of TRAVIS!! they cant stop you!] and making excuses ["oh dont you want ME to sign it then you keep it?"]- but eventually we got him to keep it..
well after that i had a shadow of doubt and checked the ode to j smith album sleeve and.. :( danggg. i was really upset man.. no wonder poor claes dint want it. hahaha. oh well we tried :) but honestly the image of when he saw the sign during the gig and gave a huge smile and a thumbs up is etched in my mind :) go Claes!
well, then as all fairytales go, Travis came out eventually and then it's mostly a blur. was my second time meeting them so wasn't so dumbstruck [had mentally run through a thousand permutations of what could happen earlier]. it was more like meeting old acquaintances rather than rockstars cos they were so humble and obliging.
interestingly enough i asked dougie about how come claes left earlier and he said smth to the effect of "oh he's like that. he's a cool guy". haha.
earlier we were joking that claes was forced to take the public bus to get back.. and that he dint want the sign cos Travis does not 'allow' him to accept gifts. or he left earlier cos the rest were making fun of his misspelt sign ["haha CLAUS.. SANTA CLAUS hahahah"]. oh well i still feel dead guilty for the error. my only regret of the night. 
i'm the dude holding the offensive sign. haha.
well i'll just share some photos of the signs we made...
the "We're" part is on the back of the sign for claes. all 3 signs wld read 'we're tony boney'.
well we did get a lot of photos but i'll just share my favourite one with the Need-to-know Bassist!
this was specially meaningful to me as the story of how dougie was drafted in as bassist for Travis by fran inspired me to pick up bass for own little (for fun) band. and one of the first songs we jammed was AIWTDIR [the bass is pretty simple haha] (:
okay yeahhhhh so anyway i could go on and on (in no coherent structure) but that wouldnt be too nice so i'll end about here.
To all those who have not met Travis and dream of doing so (i'm sure all of us have) - BELIEVE and dont give up! It's definitely possible :D

It was a TERRIFIC experience wasn't it!They were all just so so so lovely and warm!
