Hi I'm looking (for a project my friends and I are doing)
for good English comedians.
We already got the best Germans and Swiss ones (We hope),
now we're looking for English/American ones.
But there are so many, can you list some favorites? Or links or something?
I already got "Simon Amstell" from the Genesis-thread...
with the "kill me and make it look like suicide" joke and the 3 jokes about the dinosaurs..:)
And of course the dead terrorist achmed :)
any comedians you like?

English Comedian about Schottland
I found this one as well...
(it's for our volleyteam - we've got 2 scots in it, 2 germans, 4 swiss, 1 english man and 1 american in it - so I need jokes about these countries ;) ) |

Hmm my taste is quite cheesy :P
I like the common comedians, like Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Will Farell(awesome), just to name a few.
I also love Jerry Seinfeld. |

I can only assume that they saw the series on Monty Python recorded in German, and assumed them to be of the Germanic Persuasion?! |

Are you looking for specificly English or British Comedians (as there is a difference) ?
English:
I like Eddie Izzard (quite surreal at times)
Sean Locke (not hilarious or laugh out loud but more amusing)
Russel Howard.
American:
I like Rich Hall (and his alter ego Otis Lee Crenshaw)
Rodney Dangerfield (cheesy but master of one-liners)

@dubz: I think -both: Thx for the answer I check them out...but that's exactly what I was kinda looking for - thanks very much!
@ Alex: yeah I guess I mean stand-up comedians - not movie-comedians - since they're about to do some scatches
@ rest :) hey there are good German comedians! Like Michael Mittermaier always good for a political joke..., Otto Waalkes (ok..he's not that funny anymore..) and Oropax :)
I would never dare to watch Monty Pythons in German ;)
I also have "Black adder" anyone knows that one? - It's more a film or series but you can extract jokes easily! ( with Rowan Atkinson & Hugh Laurie)
And also: A bit of Fry and Laurie - wich is fabulous!
Thx for the help so far - :)

I'm going to see Stephen Merchant do a stand up gig next week. Will report back!
Fyi, he's better known as being Ricky Gervais' co writer on The Office and Extras. No idea how this'll translate into a gig, but am going with mind wide open :)

haha, you're welcome! Good to know something good came out of that pointless thread haha.
At the moment I'm into Stewart Lee, he's kind of the thinking man's comedian... some people don't get it though.
I wouldn't recommend The Pub Landlord.... haha |
