Hugs to both you Fred and Alex. I really feel for you - i've been there at times (with the drugs and the talking 'therapy'). It might not feel like it but things can get better. It's also much more common than the sceptics like to believe. Hope you start to feel a bit better soon - it will help when spring comes and we get better light.

Thank's again! =) Thank God there is travisonline.com!

I heard on the news that three out of ten youths suffer from depression, so I think it's pretty common too...

Ohh, Fred, I'm so sorry to hear that. And you too, Alex.
I hope you'll both start feeling better soon *BIG HUGS*

Each person is different when dealing with this stuff, but trying new things and meeting new people really helped for me (along with professional help). It's a very difficult situation, but I think the fact that you're talking about it and aknowledging (is that a word?) how you're feeling is a big step.

And big hugs for Goosey too, I miss you and I hope you start feeling well soon.

I also wanted to offer my concern and sympathy, Fred. It's a strange medium that you've chosen to express yourself through - a music forum. But you know what? If it helps, and everyones' positivity and good thoughts help you just one bit, then it was a good thing to do.

It was also brave of you, and the other boardie (Alex?) to talk about it here.

At the same time, I can kind of see where the cynics came in to the conversation. It's hard to understand and be sympathetic to a non tangible condition, especially if you've not experienced it, and it's a knee-jerk reaction to take the no-nonsense, get on with it approach. I really do get where they are coming from.

And I also get that not everyone agrees with the idea of posting this on an internet forum.

However, it doesn't cost anything to offer a few kind words, if a board member reaches out for support/ friendship.

I wish you both well. And I hope that starting this thread and taking comfort from everyone's thoughtful comments is of some help to you.

Wasn't my intention to write something in the first place, just wanted to show my sympathy for Fred, because I know how tough it can be, and believe me, you get the "pull yourself togehter"-comments a lot...Sometimes you just have to get things of your chest and to write it down can be the best way of doing it, so if someone can offer a bit of support that's great, the jerks are everywhere though...

And for that reason I genuinely hope that this thread helps you.

I just tried to see both sides of the story!

Depression is a illness. It can cause a lot of difficulties . Don't let it get too far. If you have any idea what maybe causing you to feel down try and sort it. There is a big difference between being depressed and feeling down.
Two weeks of feeling down ain't long enough to certify anyone with depression.
