The UK tour had finally reached it's last show, at the Astoria in London.
On a warm summers evening, a huge crowd packed into the boiling hot venue to enjoy performances from Snow Patrol, and also Ooberman who joined the tour for this one date only.
At 9:20pm, the lights dimmed and the banks of TV screens on stage flickered into life. With the crowd counting down from 10 to 1, the band came onstage to David Bowie's "The Man Who Sold The World". The Astoria was full of the swirling white noise which signalled the start of "The Fear", which was followed closely by "Writing To Reach You".
Travis' long suffering guitar-tech, Nick, stepped out into the spotlights for once to join the band for a rendition of their newest song, "Coming Around". Then in an emotional moment between songs, Fran dedicated "All I Wanna Do Is Rock" to the memory of Neville - one of the Astoria Pit Security team who was tragically killed a few weeks ago in a motorcycle accident.
When the band went offstage before their inevitable encore, the video screens relayed pictures from the dressing room of the tour manager making the band perform pressups and exercises. Then Fran came back onstage, and got the crowd chanting "Dougie, Dougie" in an attempt to get the bassist to drop his trousers!
After the mellow tones of "Only Molly Knows", the rest of the band rejoined Fran amid lots of blue flashing lights, to perform the "secret" track from The Man Who. As usual, the set closer, "Happy", had the whole crowd singing and jumping all the way back to the tube station!
A chosen few (hundred) guests were fortunate enough to be in possesion of invites to the aftershow party, for "...a couple of sherrys in the Keith Moon Bar". The free bar, and dodgy DJ got a few people dancing around, whilst others were happy to play "spot the celeb" - as well as the band members, producers and tour crew, Natalie Imbruglia, Hugo Spear, Adam and Joe and Kelly Jones were all in attendance.
