Am I right in saying there was never an official release of Travis b sides as an album. If so come on guys let’s get one sorted.

I couldn’t agree more! Love the fact the anniversary editions of The Man Who and The Invisible Band came with extra CDs including the b-sides from those eras.

However, a boxset or something including ALL the b-sides would be incredible.

Would love a proper release of Say Hello!

Not sure about official physical releases, but there ARE two amazing playlists on Spotify, which Travis posted. “Travis Rock” and “Travis Roll”- you can find streaming of the B-Sides, and Apple Music seems to have every single, including B-Sides (but not as a compilation).

I gotta add my vote for a boxset!

Hi everyone, yeah there is a couple of great collections on Spotify (the Travis Rocks one almost made me fall off a treadmill when it came out because I was laughing so much at the studio memories when listening to it!)

I’d love to see them come out physically one day as there is some of my favorite Travis songs in there.

      Big love

I was talking to Fran about this about 10 years ago. At that time, I’m sure he said that whoever owned the rights to the Independiente stuff had control over the B-sides as well and that if they wanted to re-release them on an album (they were on a new label then) they’d have to re-record them all, as they no longer owned the rights to the recordings or something – which, understandably, they weren’t keen on doing. I could be wrong, as we were a few pints deep at this stage! Maybe this is different now there have been reissues of Independiente albums on Craft Recordings, but who knows. There were no reissues at the time we discussed the B-sides.

I always thought a B-sides album/tour would have been a lot of fun. A lot of my favourite Travis songs are B-sides, and I always felt they were better than some of the album tracks. I often wondered if these were like little gift for the people who bought EVERYTHING the band did… hold back a few gems from the mainstream who buy the albums to give to the fans who buy the singles kind of idea 🙂
